Dream Downtown, by Hyatt
Visitors frequently praise the hotel's excellent location, stylish decor, and the enjoyable pool area, with some highlighting exceptional staff like Amit and Jaquon. However, several guests found the hotel overpriced for the quality, with rooms appearing outdated and the pool being small and crowded.

I travel to NYC frequently for work, stay at the Dream often, and am a loyal Hyatt member, but this was hands-down my worst hotel experience. At 2:00 AM, my room on the 5th floor started thumping to the point where it felt like the DJ was playing inside my room. I’m used to NYC sirens and horns, but this was an entirely different level. I called the front desk at 3:00 AM, and a staff member, Charlie, politely let me know the hotel's downstairs nightclub wouldn't shut off until 4:00 AM. By 4:30 AM, the bass was still blasting. When I called back, Charlie admitted it was the worst he’d ever heard it in his entire time working there. Charlie was the sole bright spot of this stay. He was empathetic and professional. The real issue, however, started the next morning. My friend (who stayed in a separate room and had the exact same miserable night) and I went to speak with the manager, Corey. We calmly explained that we hadn't slept a wink. Instead of any standard hospitality or sympathy, Corey met us with incredibly rude rebuttals. He brushed us off, told us "this is just NYC," and even claimed another guest "enjoyed the noise." The experience was so appalling that we ultimately opted to move hotels. While a hotel can't always control every sound, management can control how they treat loyal guests. Corey’s customer service was horrendous. I will never return here for business or leisure.
Please fix the fire alarms. Fake fire alarms two days in a row, first day 5:49am, second day 4:38am. Extremely disruptive.
Fabulous hotel in the heart of Chelsea, great large comfotable rooms with well thought out details. Outdoor pool with adjacent bar is an oasis in the middle of concrete jungle. Overall, although only stayed one night, it felt like we were on a mini luxury vacation. Will stay again and highly recommend
Conveniently located, pleasant staff, clean rooms.
I have stayed there a few times. The localization is perfect but the hotel let to desire. The light switches are hard to understand and the shower handle felt when I was using it. The last time I stayed there, the fire alarm happens two nights consecutive at 5:30 and 4:30 am (no fire happened). The hotel didn't send a note to apologize or provided any compensation. The gym is ok, but could be definitely better, if three people are working out, there is no more space. If you have a short business trip (or you are in part mode), this is a good choice, but longer than 2 nights, I would consider a different place.
I Left my Cartier watch in the room and I came back and the had it for me so I definitely recommend this place
