Indian Road Café, in Inwood, is the sort of place that feels like it’s been there forever, even if it hasn’t. It's a welcoming spot, especially for LGBTQ+ guests, that gets the simple things right: a good coffee, a decent beer, and food that tastes like someone actually cares.
They’ve got craft beers and wines, plus an espresso setup. So it works for a morning shot of caffeine, an afternoon glass of something, or a casual meal. The kitchen does fresh, seasonal stuff, and you can tell they lean on local suppliers.
Don't come here expecting a party. This is a neighborhood joint, low-key and comfortable. It’s the kind of place where you can actually hear yourself think, and have a conversation that doesn’t involve yelling. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it’s unpretentious, a quiet break from the Manhattan grind, and feels genuinely part of the area.
You'll find Indian Road Café at 600 W 218th Street. Check their hours and menu at indianroadcafe.com before you head up.

My wife and I, had a great time. The French toast bites were absolutely perfect. We enjoyed our main courses as well. Steak and eggs, and chicken and biscuits.
This place is a gem in a completely unique location in Northern Manhattan. Beautiful view of Inwood Hill Park and Spuyten Duyvil. Here is my advice: KEEP IT SIMPLE! Their coffee, lattes, and breakfast pastries are delicious. For dinner, have the farm burger medium rare - always perfectly grilled and the fries are great. Other options can be over-salted and over-priced, so stick with the basics and enjoy the view.
The food was good as was the experience.
Beautiful restaurant with nice ambiance and great food.
