This World AIDS Day, we’re shining a light on HIV in Essex County and the work still needed to end this epidemic.

📊 259 new HIV diagnoses were reported in Essex County in 2024.

📊 9,223 people were living with HIV in Essex County as of December 31, 2022.

📊 Only 54.3% of people diagnosed with HIV in Essex County achieved viral suppression in 2024.

Behind every statistic is a human being, a family, and a story that deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.

It’s time to RETHINK. REBUILD. RISE. We must strengthen access to testing, treatment, prevention, education, and compassionate care while continuing to dismantle stigma.
