I have never left a negative review of a business in my life, but unfortunately, in this case, it's our only recourse left. We booked a night, rescheduled with the hotel over the phone with verbal confirmation of the new booking, then were later told there was no record of this call, and they are not issuing a refund or honoring the new date we booked... Being put in this position is inconvenient enough as it is, but mistakes happen and it's understandable if the person on the phone was too busy or forgot to enter this into their system at the time. However, attempting to resolve this over the last few days has been increasingly frustrating as it becomes more apparent that a.) no one seems to be willing to entertain the possibility that a mistake like this could possibly occur, though we sent a screenshot of the call and asked that management check who was working at the time, and b.) it is more convenient to just assume we are making this up for some reason because ignoring us is easier, and while unethical, not illegal. And what else are we gonna do about it? We are on day four of calling, being told someone will call back the following day, then no one calls. So yeah, very negative ongoing experience. It's particularly annoying that no one has actually disputed what was said during this call (they might as well just accuse us of lying since that's the general tenor of their response, which doesn't really make any sense) - instead they are just saying "there's no record of this" and "no confirmation was sent," which is the complaint we are lodging in the first place... but they have not verified who spoke with us when we rescheduled and are just assuming or pretending that the conversation that took place never happened. Also, not gonna use her name, but someone on the counter was needlessly rude to my wife, who was extremely understanding and patient, and acknowledged that the person she was speaking with was not directly responsible for the mistake or the decision of how to (not) handle it. This, frankly, was not appreciated at all, and telling us "she is exasperated" and hanging up on my wife was obnoxious and absurd - you're exasperated with US? They are wrongfully taking our money because of their mistake and not taking any accountability. Wondering what she would do if she was in the same position, or the owners for that matter. Also after being told at least three times someone would call back, and no one does, I have to wonder whether the owner/manager has any idea this happened. We would welcome the opportunity for someone to make this right but not gonna keep calling every day for a rude non-response. And the overall impression of this place is unfortunately kinda sleazy and not indicative of anyone caring too much about customer service, based on our terrible experience.

TL;DR awful customer service I have not stayed at this hotel, this is about my experience with booking. In July, I book a room in August. A few days later, I called to move my reservation to September. They said they would move my reservation to September. Last week, I received a text from the innkeeper that my room was ready. I called to explain that my reservation was moved. She said they had no record of it. I shared a screenshot of the day I called, and they said they would call me back the next day to figure this out (sunday). When they did not call, I called them again on Monday and was told I would get a call back today. When they still did not call me back, I called to ask what was going on. The person who picked up was extremely rude to me, offering little help, refusing to admit they made a mistake, and said the owners will call me tomorrow. I paid for this room in advance (over $400) and all I asked was to move my reservation or refund me and instead they are choosing to ignore me. I feel like I've tried and been very reasonable about this. My only recourse is to leave a negative review, and eat the money I guess since they keep avoiding resolving this issue.

We had an awesome dinner at the Old Village Inn! Matt, our server, was attentive, made great recommendations, and had such a great energy throughout the evening. The food and drinks were absolutely lovely. Kudos to everyone in the kitchen and behind the scenes for running such a wonderful restaurant. We can’t wait to come back!

This was our 2nd year dining at Old Village Amin (after new management/chef came on board). It held up from last year - our meals were amazing and things definitely one of our top places in Ogunquit. Matt was by far one of the best servers ever - engaging, hilarious, and so sweet! I would highly recommend the wedge salad. Our friend got the chicken piccata and I was so jealous.

I had probably one of the best dinners of my life here in mid July 2024. Four of us came in a same-day reservation on a Monday evening. We started with the “haunted room #2” which is basically a spicy margarita. The presentation is so cool, in a smoky box. Absolutely delicious. We started with a crab cake, and a tostada andaluza. The crab cake was super fresh, and the bread and tomatoes was equally as good. I appreciate the international flair to the menu. My main was the halibut special in the pomodoro sauce. It was equisite; flaky, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The others at my table all ordered the schnitzel, which they enjoyed. Service was excellent, drinks were excellent, and food was excellent. Don’t come, you will hate it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We returned for a family dinner in July of 2026. This time, I drank espresso martinis, which could have had a little more alcohol in them. My French onion soup appetizer was very good. My entree was a seafood risotto that was on special. I did not care for it, it had a really strong smell of the ocean. Service continues to be great, as does the atmosphere.
