Pride on 39th

Pride on 39th is Oklahoma City's original pride, held on NW 39th Street, the city's historic gay bar strip. Oklahoma City has two prides, and this is the neighbourhood one. In 2020 the old organizing groups split. The OKC Pride Alliance moved its PrideFest downtown to Scissortail Park in 2021, and it now runs in late June. The 39th Street bar owners kept the pride on the strip and, after a court fight, the rights to the "OKC Pride" name. Their event is run by OKC Pride Inc.

It's a free three-day block party, earlier in June than the downtown event. Part of NW 39th is closed to traffic for booths, two stages of local drag and music, food trucks and a kids' zone, and the bars stay full late. The parade forms up near Classen Boulevard and turns onto 39th on Sunday evening.

The 2026 edition ran June 5 to 7, with the parade at 6pm on Sunday, June 7, and the theme "They Can't Erase Us". Organizers counted it as the event's 39th year. We found no attendance figure, so we can't confirm the 40,000 listed. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked. It's usually held in the first half of June.
