What reviewers say

Some visitors note a lovely westward view and good location, with one mentioning great shower pressure and heat. However, a significant number of guests report extremely disappointing experiences, citing rooms that are very hot, often due to non-functioning air conditioning, and a general state of disrepair with issues like peeling paint, dirty tubs, and broken fixtures.

I like visiting Downtown Olympia for business and pleasure. Have stayed at this hotel for over 20 years - great location and heritage MCM building; BUT sadly it got so bad the last time we tried to stay we asked for our money back after trying to find a room with clean / non-ratty sheets, after 5 tries - we had to find another place to stay. The staff were professional about it. It was a tough deal on them too. (I hope the hotel is now closed for a MCM update. Plus fix the pool, it would be cool to have a sunset patio overlooking the lake.) PS. There was once a time when Red Lion hotel meant solid value with quality lodging in the PNW.
