About This Event

Gay Days Orlando, every June, is one of the world's biggest unofficial LGBTQ+ events. More than 150,000 people from all over show up. It’s mostly centered on Walt Disney World.

It started in 1991. Queer visitors to Disney World wore red shirts to find each other. A simple act of visibility, creating a community right there in America’s most famous family theme park.

That red shirt idea grew. Now, it's a full festival week. There are official hotel blocks, pool parties, and nightclub events all over Orlando. The red-shirt park days still happen at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and other theme parks in the area.

Disney doesn't officially sponsor Gay Days. But they’ve always welcomed LGBTQ+ visitors. The event's run for over thirty years without any real trouble.

With 150,000-plus people over the week, Gay Days is huge. Think Southern Decadence in New Orleans, or Utah Pride.

The Parliament House Resort is the unofficial HQ. They do pool parties and events all week. If you want theme park rides mixed with actual queer community, Gay Days Orlando in June is it.
