An amazing place with the most welcoming team all around. Had the pleasure to speak with Br. Bernard & he was so kind and helpful. Donna, in particular, was beyond helpful. This place is so inclusive and totally non judgemental. Can’t wait to return. Such a blessing. Thank you for hosting me.

This is a wonderful, peaceful, serene, place for relaxation and contemplation. The grounds are gorgeous. The brothers are welcoming and friendly. The rooms are basic but pleasant. The food is outstanding (I usually GAIN weight when I visit for a week!). If you're wondering what the atmosphere is like, it's quiet and reflective -- so, no cell phone calls in the guest house (except for a single area reserved for this, or outdoors) and no zoom meetings from your room. If you're wondering what the brothers are like: They wear regular street clothes most of the time and are like most "regular" (non-monk) guys. I find them typically smart, witty, welcoming, and pleasant, with a great deal of depth. They certainly expanded MY view of what "religious" people are like. If you're wondering about whether there's any religious "pressure" here -- There isn't any. Believe or don't believe; attend as many church services as you like or none. There's nobody to push you or "sell" you on anything. Holy Cross Monastery is a great place to unwind, get away, and contemplate. And, as a bonus, you can pray the Daily Office with the brothers... if you want to.

Our vessel was anchored just across this Monastery. It was such a great view to see this building away from the busy city. The area is very quiet and peaceful. We never had the chance to visit this. Though I suppose going inside has a much better scenery.
