Lovely historic hotel and the location couldn't be better. Nice common area with couches, table, and pleasant art. The shared bathrooms were not an issue at all; were never occupied and very clean. Communication for check-in with Kerstyn was prompt and simple. Highly recommend.

I am sad to leave this review as I have stayed here before and loved it - I won’t stay again. This weekend at Hotel Scandi, my sister and I experienced a deeply concerning situation that left us feeling unsafe and unsupported. We were traveling with our husbands when a man who had been hiding in the courtyard followed our group into the hotel. It appeared he had attempted to tamper with the exterior lock and then used our entry into the building as his opportunity to gain access. The situation was immediately unsettling. When we asked whether he was a registered guest, he claimed that he was, which was later determined to be untrue. We contacted the hotel and were told that housekeeping would be coming to the property right away. No one arrived. When we called again, we were informed that housekeeping would not be coming until the police were there due to safety concerns. With no staff present and no assistance on the way, we had no choice but to contact law enforcement ourselves. 911 had to be called twice before officers responded. We stayed to ensure the man did not go anywhere else in the building and met the police, guided them through the building and situation. Housekeeping arrived after all of that took place. Out of concern for our safety, my sister and I secured ourselves inside our room while our husbands remained in the common area to monitor the situation. The entire experience was deeply disturbing and entirely avoidable had proper security or staffing protocols been in place. Ultimately, we lost hours on Saturday dealing with police reports and waiting for hotel representation to address a situation that should never have escalated to this extent. The man was arrested on site. In addition to this incident, we were assigned the wrong room upon arrival. I reserved the highest room option and was downgraded to the lowest. I called immediately on arrival and was offered no solution, only that a manager would reach out - I have still have not heard back. The lack of on-site support, the absence of effective security response, and the overall mishandling of this incident have permanently changed our view. We will not compromise our safety for this level of management and hospitality again.

We are currently staying at Hotel Scandi and experienced a situation that was both dangerous and deeply mishandled by management. The hotel is unstaffed, which became a serious issue when a man hiding in the courtyard followed us into the building. We felt immediately uncomfortable and asked him directly if he was a hotel guest. He said yes but he was not. He behaved in a disturbing manner, and because there was no staff present, we felt obligated to remain in the common area to monitor the situation for the safety of ourselves and other guests. We called guest services and were told someone from housekeeping would arrive shortly. Fifteen minutes passed and no one showed up. We called again and they said housekeeping wasn’t there and wasn’t coming for safety reasons. At that point, feeling unsafe and unsupported, we called the local police ourselves. We then had to wait approximately 20 more minutes with this individual inside the hotel. During that time, he barricaded himself in the shared guest bathroom and proceeded to clean himself there. There was still no hotel staff present. When police finally arrived, they extracted him from the bathroom and charged him with burglary, after which we had to wait for a hotel representative to show up to validate him as not being a guest. While this may have been a freak incident, the response was unacceptable. An unstaffed hotel must have immediate, effective security protocols in place. This property clearly does not. Afterward, we contacted the hotel to confirm whether the shared bathroom had been disinfected and supplies replaced. The response was confusing and not reassuring. We were offered 20% off our stay, which felt insulting given the safety risk and the hours of distress this situation caused. We have stayed here before and would have stayed again. However, the lack of staffing, lack of urgency, and poor handling of a dangerous situation have permanently changed our view. We will not return. This management team should do better.

One of the worst experiences ever. Never provided with a door code (though housekeeper provided us with an all-access code!), assigned the wrong room (1 bed, 4 people), overcharged and consistently ignored by the hotel. No one seems to work there or care. Skip Hotel Scandal.

I was able to checkout this hotel with a friend in person about five months ago and was pretty impressed with their setup and location. Rooms are very charming and was well kept. It's sad to see such a neat place have so many issues since then. I've been informed they are under new management which might explain the communication issues that have been ever so present in recent reviews. I really hope they are able to collect themselves again before my next trip to the area!🤞 We can only hope!

My parents made a reservation here but then needed to cancel it due to change in plans. They couldn’t get ahold of anyone for days because the voice mail mailbox was full. I went in person to take care of it, but there was no front desk or in-person check in. Luckily, I was able to leave a voicemail asking for a call back. They called me back and I was able to get the reservation canceled. Bad communication strategies, bad customer service.

Could not get any information on how to enter the locked door. No one was there to let us in, and there was no communication about how to enter. My gf and I waited for an hour with no contact from the hotel. We had to leave and make the ferry back to Edmonds. What a waste.
