Best Cruising Areas in Provincetown

Provincetown's cruising is outdoors and after dark, the way it has been for decades. The town is small and the vibe is open, so the whole place can feel cruisy in season — but a few spots are the real landmarks.

The spots

• Dick Dock — the famous stretch of sand and pilings under the waterfront decks by the Boatslip. Busiest late, once Tea Dance and the bars wind down.
• Beech Forest — a wooded Seashore trail off Race Point Road with a long-standing daytime reputation. Discreet; it's federal parkland.

Beaches and bars

The far-left, clothing-optional end of Herring Cove Beach (past the last parking lot, toward Wood End) is the daytime scene. Indoors, the cruisy energy lives at Macho Bar (the leather room under the A-House) and The Vault at the Crown & Anchor.

A few things to know
