Beech Forest

So peaceful. One of my favorite spots in town especially in the fall.

A leisurely walk where you see a bit of swamp, lakes, and trees. In some places, the forest is quite dense. We saw enormous mushrooms! And we also found a little fox in the parking lot that was wandering back and forth. And speaking of parking, it's very easy to find a spot there.

Great for biking, e bike best as hills are pretty horrific!

This parking area is great for accessing the Province Lands Bike Trail loop. We did the full loop with our 7 year old who loved it. Gears were incredibly helpful for him but he still had to walk a few of the hills up. The downhills when you go clockwise seemed safe and fun for him and us. Minimal to no sand on the trail (apparently in season they sweep sand off the trails 1x per week so maybe we lucked out). Trail felt very quiet for a late morning bike ride in August and riders were all polite and enthusiatic about seeing a kid on the trail.

Nice, well maintained paved bike path good for both walking and cycling. Mile markers and informational plaques in a few places. Very quiet and peaceful. Interesting sand dune typography throughout. Will certainly go back!

awesome hike through the forest and along dunes/marsh. pretty flat for the most part with a few flights of wooden stairs. really well maintained. a variety of beautiful native plants, the space is clearly well taken care of. there is an option to extend the hike and go up to. near the dunes but we did the loop which was a bit over a mile and took about half an hour. safe (and i recommend) to do it barefoot! a little bit buggy, at least in late june, but not too bad, especially if you keep moving. great birds too. very peaceful

It's okay. Unfortunately, the trail disappears at a certain point and leads towards the parking lot.
