Equality NC

Equality NC is North Carolina's statewide LGBTQ advocacy group, with its office in downtown Raleigh near the state legislature. It works on lobbying, elections, legal advocacy and public education, and was one of the main opponents of HB2, the 2016 law that restricted trans people's bathroom access and overrode local non-discrimination ordinances. HB2 was partly repealed in 2017. This is an office, not a drop-in community centre. Listed hours are weekdays 9am to 6pm, so contact them before visiting (+1 919-829-0343). Their website lists events, volunteer opportunities and current policy fights.
