Delta King Hotel

Staff was amazing 🤩 even when I accidentally damaged a door 😂 they were so nice about it. Brandon checked us in and provided us some comedic relief and was so helpful with directing us around the boat. An experience you must have. Don’t think because this is a boat you won’t eat or sleep well.

We disired to stay in the waterfront area. Delta King was perfect. Dining/Bar very nice. Rooms are very small. Similar to a cruise ship. Very clean and operational. We definitely would return.

Loved the venue. Loved the river. Loved the sea lions. Staff were genial. Room was large enough to be more than comfortable. Had dinner outside on the deck. It was delicious. It is not a chain type hotel and that is a big part of the charm.

We have stayed in a lot of hotels recently and this is the most expensive one we stayed in, and yet the hospitality was the worst. The hotel itself is super cool and beautiful. But the front desk was extremely unhelpful. We wanted to check in early which I understand can't be guaranteed but we ended up not being able to get into a room until 20 minutes after the check in time. I heard the housekeeping tell the front desk that a different room was ready but she refused to switch us. It was hard because our little boy had just had eye surgery and we had to get into a room to administer his medicine but they refused to give us any grace. A $50/ night Motel 6 has been kinder. On top of that, the hotel restaurant closed early, so we didn't even get to enjoy the view for our dinner, and we had no warning of that.

It's hard to turn around in the room. Kept banging my head in the bathroom. Cool to say I stayed there. But that's the only good thing. Restaurant in the morning, never again

Great spot, right on old sac, however service lacked. Check-in was absent for 15 min, and on checkout, valet was 'on lunch' and couldn't get our vehicle for nearly a hour. Bar and food service was great, rooms were quant, albeit a bit small. Also, the local wildlife will wake you up at 6am, so no need for a alarm.

I stayed on The Delta King April18th leading up to my fiance' and my wedding. My room was on the city side, it was a bit noisy due to a party going on below me, I was pleasantly surprised when things shut down by 9:00. The room was exquisite, quiet and comfortable. My mom, daughter and Key West friends had many cocktails in the bar. Being a server myself I felt like service was lacking, slow and the servers were unfriendly. A great reminder, as a server you are in the hospitality business earning tips, smile, act happy even if you aren't. Their was one imparticular server, Julian...as our wedding party was gathering for rehearsal cocktails things were a bit hectic as guest were arriving spontaneously...I could see frustration and panic about him so I flagged him down and said " hey, I know this is crazy and you are busy but, take a minute, breathe, calm down and come back." I think it struck a cord with him because from that moment he was awesome! I have to give a shout out to Rachel and Hanna for helping me via email planning the reception dinner in the Pilot House Restaurant, Thank You. I took a bucket of things for the table with instructions as to how I wanted the table set up, Mary if that was you that set the table it was beautiful! Again, Julian you made our dinner and evening everything I wanted things to be! We can't wait fo come back on a slightly less stressful event.

Parking is challenging

We had an incredible stay at the Delta King. Knowing its history—from ferrying passengers between Sacramento and San Francisco in the 1920s to being abandoned and sinking in the San Francisco Bay before its complete restoration—gives the whole place an unmatched character that you simply won't find in a standard hotel. The location is absolutely unbeatable if you want to explore Old Sacramento. We had a river-facing room, and the views of the water, the local historic buildings, and the iconic golden Tower Bridge were great. One warning for future guests: because it is a historic boat, the floors and walls are thin, so you will definitely hear people walking around above you. Additionally, the local sea lion population that seasonally visits the river right across from the boat barks throughout the night. It can get loud, but the hotel thoughtfully provides earplugs in the room. Most importantly, every single interaction we had with the staff was positive, professional, and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique, perfectly located basecamp in Sacramento.

We took the Amtrak and walked from the station to the hotel. It is high on historic ambiance and great views. If you're tall, watch your head when you go in the rooms! You get drink vouchers for the bar, which I wish we'd checked out - they had awesome looking mocktails! And a great view of the water/city. You get to watch seals on the river pier while you eat breakfast. I suspect they might have been the reason earplugs were provided. We were riverside, and did hear some music, but it wasn't bad enough to require earplugs. Great little getaway! Staff was all very friendly, rooms were clean. The views are definitely worth having to be careful with the slanted floor when you get out of bed.
