Delta King Hotel
Visitors praise the Delta King for its unique historic boat experience, river views, and friendly staff. However, many note that the rooms are very small with low ceilings and narrow spaces, which can be uncomfortable for taller individuals. Some also mention noise issues and occasional problems with bugs due to door seals.

This accommodation, housed in a historic boat moored along the river, offers a unique stay experience with stunning river views. The rooms, though compact, have a wonderful atmosphere, and the preserved, historically-inspired decor enhances the travel experience. At night, the calm waters and city lights combine to create a truly memorable and otherworldly atmosphere. Its convenient location makes it ideal for sightseeing, with easy access to nearby attractions and dining options. It's a perfect spot for those seeking a relaxing getaway or a slightly unusual accommodation experience. It's definitely worth experiencing at least once for a memorable and unique stay. The quiet, special atmosphere is a major draw. It's a truly unforgettable stay. The river views are beautiful, and the peaceful tranquility is palpable. Highly recommended.
Everything is great except for low head room, it's definitely not for tall guys
Overall its fun and different but really missed the mark. Check in was smooth and front desk staff were helpful. My room was on the upper deck. First the ship is tilted lol so just be prepared. Rooms are small but nicely set up. Unfortunately there was just tons of bugs in my room as the door did not seal well. The bars staff 2 younger women seemed very standoffish, rude, and ignored many customers. Sitting at the bar I waited to see if she would greet me took 13 mins to where I finally stopped her. Over all very poor communication and attitude for both of them and need to rethink if they want to work in hospitality. It really ruined the night/trip and decided not to even order food. We had a drink and went elsewhere. Its alittle loud at night with many homeless randoms wandering around i did feel alittle unsafe as the boat is tied to the train station area and boardwalk. So just be mindful.
This happened a year ago but I remember it like yesterday : I was strolling the dock with my partner and we dipped in to check out this historic boat, hoping there was a restaurant/bar inside. Took a minute to see the historical artifacts displayed in the lobby area, while my partner went to find a restroom. Suddenly a security guard rushed up on me, and did a passive aggressive, “CAN I HELP YOU?”, like we were intruding. It seemed like he thought we were vagrants or something. Sure, my partner is “punk rock” looking, but so what? We like to visit unique places and spend money, so what does it matter? After that weird reaction from the security guy, we had decided it was better to leave. Too bad, we wanted to support a local legend.
Right in old Sacramento. Great shops. Open air restaurants close by. Great nice restaurant located on ship. Good bar. Great area.
If you’re looking for a typical cookie cutter hotel, like Holiday Inn, this isn’t it! This is an adventure! This is the opportunity to relive history. Sure the rooms are small, but that’s the way things were in 1920. The restaurant and bar are great. The river views are nice. The staff makes you feel like you’re the most special guest on the boat. This is definitely worth doing again.
If you are into unique hotels, this is a can’t miss! I won’t stay anywhere else is Sacramento since discovering this gem. Rooms are clean (but small), staff is very friendly, only critique is the bar/restaurant. Food was mid, service was slow. But that wouldn’t deter me, and shouldn’t deter you!
