Great saunas, wish they had cold plunge.

I'm a regular at Hot Haven and honestly can't say enough good things about this place! The vibe is so welcoming and friendly – you can tell the staff genuinely care about creating a great experience. I'm all about the IR sauna cabin, and it's become my go-to spot for unwinding. What I love most is how clean and well-maintained everything is. You can just show up, get your sweat session in, and be on your way without any hassle. It's the perfect low-key, relaxing ritual that fits easily into my routine. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable spot to de-stress in San Diego, Hot Haven is the place. Highly recommend!

HOTHaven is San Diego's BEST Sauna spot and I've checked out many and walked out of some due to uncleanliness in their saunas. In fact, I had booked a session right by my hotel in Eastlake CV, and once I entered their sauna, I was grossed out by the dirt and grime (possibly mold) in the layered floor board and walked out! I had no idea where Banker Hill was, and I was skeptical about the neighborhood as I drove out of suburbia, however, don't let that deter you, it is very safe at their location. The parking is right in front and the second you walk in the door, you feel the Zen energy and start to relax. I was greeted by Sydney and she is a wealth of wellness knowledge and very attentive to your needs throughout your stay. I kept her busy refilling my water with their crisp, deliciously pure water. I normally do the sauna cabins, however, I was having a mold flare from exposure at a wedding venue in Liberty Station and needed the deepest core sweat possible. Sydney educated me on the benefits of the sauna blanket over the cabin, and once I saw the relaxing private space and comfortabe table I'd be on, I couldn't wait to get started. Loved that they have clothes for you to wear in the blanket, as it also helps you see how much you actually sweated afterwards. The process is very sanitary, as their liners prevent seepage onto the actual blanket and the liners do not contain micro plastics. You have a call button and Sydney magically appears :) Loved the water holder on the wall with a long bent straw so easy to drink from and the bottle was GLASS! Extra credit points there! Originally I thought the I'd just zen out or sleep, however, I don't have a TV in my bedroom, so it was actually fun to watch a little HBOMAX while I sweated. It also passed the time and I believe allowed me to relax into the heat more. My lymph system is very open and fluid, as I have a lymphatic specialist, however, there is always one lymph node in my breast that rarely drains. UCLA actually told me it was stage zero breast cancer for years. Knowing my body, I knew that was wrong and finally a breast specialist agreed. The point is, this lymph node actually drained with the use of the sauna blanket at HOTHaven! You have to understand that the blankets here are not your average at home sauna blankets. They are NEXTLEVEL! They combine InfraRed LIGHT along with the heat! Also, I believe that the zen environment allowed for even greater relaxation and drainage. Sydney brought me a lavender infused moist washcloth for my face and neck towards the last 10 minutes that was divine. After your sauna, you will enter the ZEN Den complete with Himalayan salt rocks, comfortable chairs covered with protective towels for sanitation and zen lighting to complete your session by cooling down naturally and not rushing the process. This is an overlooked step at most sauna places, as they are needing you to leave for the next client to start. Not at HotHaven, they actually encourage you to take all the time you need in the Zen Den to properly cool down and let the sweat continue out of your body. The wonderful thing about the Zen Den and the clothes they have you wear, is you leave completely dry, without still dripping sweat in your car like I have done at so many other places that kindly rush you out the door due to not having a Zen Den. Lastly, I want to give a shout out to the amazing Sunscreen developed by the owners. No cancer causing ingredients and it goes on so smooth and is actually moisturizing like regular lotion. No white zinc oxide residue, it all blends right into the skin. This will be my forever sunscreen and I will send as gifts to friends and family. Thank you Jenica and hubby for creating this very needed product. They also sell their sauna blanket system and I do intend to purchase, as I am not from the area. What started as a devastating mold flare, turned into the most amazing sauna of my wellness journey thus far. So glad I found you! Only wish you had a location near me! I will be back on every visit to San Diego!

This place is so lovely! Feels very luxurious. I did a membership for a bit, and i definitely would recommend. Unfortunately I had to cancel due to other expenses in my life. The cabins are comfortable, and have a TV! If you do a membership you can bring in another person for free which is an awesome perk. Hopefully I’ll get to go again soon

I've tried many different types of sauna studios and gyms over the years. Hot Haven and Jen provided one of the best experiences and sauna treatments I've ever had. Jen was personable, friendly, very knowledgeable about health and wellness, and overall exceptional at her job. I also preferred the sauna blanket over infrared saunas for heat distribution, privacy, and relaxation.
