About this place Seattle Gay and Lesbian Book Club

Seattle's Gay and Lesbian Book Club has been gathering since 2009, giving LGBTQ+ readers a place to connect over a book. Every month, the club picks one book, then meets to talk about it. It’s a low-key way to meet locals and hear what they think. If you’re just in town for a few days, it’s a genuine chance to swap ideas. Meetings are on Wednesday evenings, from 6 to 7:15 pm. You don't have to be a regular; newcomers are welcome. It’s a good alternative to a bar if you want an evening out that's more about conversation than cocktails. The club is in Seattle, and it's the kind of group that makes a community feel real, away from the usual commercial spots. Come for the books, stay for the company.

We visited many bookstores this trip to Seattle, but Elliott Bay was the clear favorite. Best selection, best recommendations, excellent layout and reading spaces, and even had an author event that drew a lot of people the night we dropped in.

There are so many great bookstores in Seattle, but this is a favorite!! Huge selection & super helpful employees. You can also check online for what’s in stock if looking for something in particular. The cozy atmosphere makes it easy to browse the shelves & lose track of time. Love it here!
