via Stay22About this place Gay City
Gay City, a Capitol Hill institution for two decades, is Seattle’s main LGBTQ+ community center—a place for resources, programs, and a little bit of everything else.
It’s not a bar or a club, though it’s in the heart of Capitol Hill’s nightlife. Instead, think of it as a central hub for Seattle’s queer community and its allies. Gay City exists to make life better for LGBTQ+ people in Seattle, and that means a lot of different things.
You’ll find everything from health services and educational workshops to cultural events and general community meetups. They're big on diversity, which means their programming actually reflects the many different experiences of queer Seattleites. If you’re a local, it’s a good spot to plug into. If you're just visiting, it’s a way to connect with the city’s LGBTQ+ scene beyond the usual tourist haunts.
Find Gay City at 517 East Pike Street, right in Capitol Hill. For a full rundown of what’s on, their website is gaycity.org. It’s a solid stop for anyone looking to see—and support—the real infrastructure of Seattle’s queer community.

The fact that they offer free STI testing no questions asked, is truly amazing. Everyone there was so kind, and I saw several people come in needing various help while I was there, and no one was turned away. Donate if you can! We need centers like this to stay around for our community!!
Even though they couldn't directly help me with my problem, the service was nice.
