Sonesta ES Suites Torrance Redondo Beach

Came here for Warped Tour in Long Beach. First room the bed was hard and very uncomfortable! I say first room because our 3rd night there we discovered ANTS in our bed. Switched rooms at 10 pm to a bigger suite with a much comfier bed. Walls are THIN and I’m sorry but continental breakfast from only 7-9 am? Wish I could review breakfast too but never made it in time. We never received additional towels or room service while there for 4 days. Overpriced in my opinion!

Front desk older lady not helpful at all… internet hasn’t worked since we arrived 5 days ago. They tell us to call some central hotel service line for help… and they say there is an ISP issue of some sort the hotel must figure out. What hotel doesn’t have internet these days???? And the manager has never called us, despite that useless front desk older lady saying they would. Came here to vacation and to be able to telework…. Nope!!

I recently stayed here for 8 nights at a cost of just under $2,000. Based on the photos and reviews, I expected something much closer to an upscale experience. Unfortunately, that wasn't what I encountered. During my stay, I found a large toenail on the carpet beside the bed, a small dried blood spot on the bathroom mirror, a long dark hair rolled up inside one of the bath towels, and soap and grime buildup in the bathtub. There was also a bag of trash containing soiled bed pads left under the kitchen sink. I initially thought the odor was coming from the garbage disposal until I reached under the sink for more paper towels and found the trash. The carpet was so worn where it met the tile that the exposed tack strip would occasionally catch my foot. Outside my patio door, trash frequently accumulated around the sidewalk trash can instead of being cleaned up promptly. I also used the guest laundry facilities. The machines appeared old and worn, including one with a broken door that had no sign indicating it was out of service. Even after washing my clothes, I could still smell the cologne I had been wearing earlier that day, which didn't inspire much confidence in how well the machines were cleaning. To be fair, I didn't wait until after my stay to mention these concerns. I reported them to Juan at the front desk on separate occasions as I discovered them. Juan was consistently friendly, professional, and assured me he would pass everything along to management. Despite multiple reports, I never received a phone call, follow-up, or acknowledgment from management. For me, that was the most disappointing part. Problems can happen at any hotel. What often separates a good hotel from a great one is how leadership responds once they're aware of them. I also want to recognize the positives. Juan consistently provided excellent customer service, and the breakfast attendant did an excellent job keeping the breakfast area stocked throughout the morning. They both represented the hotel well. This property has many of the ingredients to provide a great guest experience, but it felt like "good enough" had become the standard. For nearly $2,000, I expected better attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and guest concerns. Based on my experience, I would choose to stay elsewhere next time.

Is a nice place 100% recommended

This was our last hotel and turned out to be a 2 bed apartment with en suites! With a lounge and full kitchen. Very comfortable. There's a swimming pool, jacuzzi, outside fire pit with chairs, with lots of room. Great choice at breakfast. Only downside really is the place painted grey which makes it look very drab. Location is a bit far out from things. But overall very clean,spacious with good facilities.

We had a great stay at Sonesta ES Suites Torrance Redondo Beach. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which made a really good first impression. Breakfast is served daily from 7–9 AM, and for this price range, I thought it was very generous. Parking was also included, and there were plenty of spaces, so we never had any issues finding a spot. The room had an induction cooktop, microwave, and a large refrigerator, which was very convenient, especially when traveling with a young child and needing to prepare simple meals. One thing to keep in mind is that housekeeping is only provided once a week, probably because of the reasonable price. If you need fresh towels, you can bring the used ones to the front desk and they will exchange them for the same number of clean towels. It was not inconvenient for us at all. Overall, for the price, I think this hotel is a great value. The room was comfortable, breakfast and parking were included, the atmosphere was nice, and there was even a pool. We had a very pleasant stay. 5 stars!
