Rooms are SUPER small. Like if you’re claustrophobic, you’ll probably feel uncomfortable small. The entire space was smaller than an average camper. DC location had a lot of outside noise pollution but hotel provides a noise machine as well as earplugs. Front desk staff were very kind. But when we grabbed complimentary coffee at 6:20am and found chemical fake creamer, we asked a hotel restaurant staff person who was setting up coffee if they had half and half. We were shocked at how literally degrading and rude her reply was. … And were told we couldn’t have any. Her attitude alone was enough to have us never return.
I waited 20 minutes just to place my order. I asked to speak with the manager, but the manager never came. The lack of customer service was very disappointing. Terrible service—I expected much better.
Wonderful experience. Can walk to everything! Vinny and Marcus were outstanding, as well as a women at the desk when we checked in. So helpful and went above and beyond with our luggage. Room was clean and when we wanted an extra sheet they came right away. Everyone from check in to check out was so helpful and super friendly. Would definitely stay there again!!
We knew the size of the room going in and absolutely loved our stay. We had the pleasure of checking in and out with Marcus a couple months ago and he was delightful. The room although intimate, was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. Parking is across the street and considering how much hotels in DC can charge for parking, Motto offers a reasonable price. When we come back to DC for another fun weekend we will definitely be staying here!
Once again as so often is the case when I visit Capitol Hill in DC the night shift "hospitality" staff at the front desk is lacking greatly on the hospitality. It's not just this place, it seems to be many hotels here. All the cross looks when you just ask a simple question or pickup a food delivery. This one's night time staff seems to forget that they're in the hospitality industry. The day time staff is great though. A simple smile isn't so hard to find during day. They're delightful.
