Dignity Washington is an LGBTQ+-affirming Catholic community in Dupont Circle, Washington DC, gathering lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Catholics to celebrate their faith authentically.
Every Sunday at 6pm, members meet for Mass and prayer. It’s a spiritual space, yes, but one that’s firmly rooted in Catholic tradition while still being welcoming to all.
If you're in DC and want an LGBTQ+-friendly religious community, Dignity is a way to connect with others who share both Catholic heritage and LGBTQ+ identity. The congregation’s been here a long time, part of a tradition of inclusive faith spaces in Washington.
You can drop in for the Sunday gathering at their Dupont location, whether you're just visiting for a weekend or staying longer. It’s a place for reflection, connection, and worship. Expect respect, and an environment where LGBTQ+ people are fully affirmed in their identity and faith.

Dignity Washington is ground zero for the Catholic LGBTQ community in the area. There is no requirement to be LGBTQ or Catholic to participate in their activities or events. They are very welcoming and have a lot of information. They host a number of groups who provide social activities and faith communities. One of the groups, Communitas, is a Eucharist-centered intentional community rooted in the Catholic tradition. Members come together as equals to form a faith community empowered by the Gospel, and committed to making Christ's reign of justice and peace a reality. Communitas meets regularly at 10 am on Sundays. (Facebook: Communitas DC for more information). There is a movie group, bridge, and a book club in addition to other activities. Saturday evening liturgy meets at St Margaret. be mindful of the parking regulations in the area.
