Last verified: October 2026. Pattaya has two gay districts 3 km apart, hundreds of hotels that will not blink at two men checking in, and very few places to sleep that are actually gay. In 2026 I can stand behind four: the men-only Sansuk Sauna & Guesthouse on Thappraya Soi 11, Zing Resort & Spa and The Venue Residence inside the Jomtien Complex, and Lonops Gay Paradise, a guesthouse out near Siam Country Club that only works because of its shuttle. Two gay-owned Jomtien guesthouses (Siam House and Jomtien Hostel) still appear on gay booking sites, but I could not confirm their 2026 status. I found no verified gay-hotel closures in 2025–2026, and several hotels that older guides called "gay" (Vogue, Blackwoods) are ordinary mainstream properties. So the real choice is geographic: Boyztown, the go-go lane off Second Road, or the Jomtien Complex, the bar-and-massage block behind Dongtan Beach where much of the scene has moved. This guide sorts the options in walking minutes, then covers joiner rules, tax, the June event fortnight, getting home at 3 am and the law.
Pick by trip style
| Stay style | Hotels | Walk to Boyztown (Pattayaland Soi 3) | Walk to Jomtien Complex | Who it suits and the watch-out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gay-popular, inside the Complex | Zing Resort & Spa, The Venue Residence | 45–50 min; take a baht bus or Bolt | 0–2 min | Men who want the beach by day and bars below the room at night. Watch-out: The Venue has a cabaret downstairs; ask for a back room. |
| Men-only | Sansuk Sauna & Guesthouse | 25–28 min, uphill on Thappraya Road | 22–25 min | Solo travellers who want the sauna as the living room. Watch-out: rooms are basic and you are between the two scenes, not in either. |
| On the Boyztown doorstep | Copa Hotel Pattaya, P72 Hotel Walking Street, Elephant Plaza | 0–1 min (Copa), 5–7 min (P72), 7–9 min (Elephant Plaza) | 40 min plus; ride | Go-go regulars and short stays. Watch-out: noise until dawn and Walking Street crowds. |
| Quiet Thappraya sois with pools | Baan Souy Resort, Le Prive Resort | 29–31 min (Baan Souy), 15–17 min (Le Prive) | 17–19 min (Baan Souy), 30–33 min (Le Prive) | Couples who want sleep and a pool, with a 5-minute ride to either scene. Watch-out: Thappraya Road pavements are poor at night. |
| Inland, reliable mid-range | Hotel Amber, Amethyst Hotel, Intimate Hotel | 21–23 min (Amber), 12–14 min (Amethyst), 10–12 min (Intimate) | 50 min plus; ride | Value hunters who also want Sunee Plaza nearby. Watch-out: no sea, heavy traffic on Second and Third Road. |
| Big beach resort | Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya | 26–28 min | Ride, 15–25 min depending on traffic | Pool people and Pride weekenders on Beach Road. Watch-out: full of families. |
| Budget and out of town | Aloft Hotel and Hostel, BR-Guesthouse, Lonops Gay Paradise | 28–30 min (Aloft), 13–15 min (BR), shuttle only (Lonops) | 18–20 min (Aloft), ride (BR), shuttle only (Lonops) | Tight budgets, or a gay guesthouse with a garden pool. Watch-out: Lonops is about 7.5 km from Boyztown; you live by the shuttle timetable. |
Where to sleep, in real minutes
Gay Pattaya runs along a line from north to south. At the top is Boyztown: Pattayaland Soi 3 and the connecting Soi 13/3, a short block between Beach Road and Second Road just north of the Walking Street arch. Here are Boyz Boyz Boyz, X Boys, Castro Show Bar, Panorama Pub and Toy Boys, all within about 100 m of each other. Sunee Plaza, the older host-bar quarter, sits inland off South Pattaya Road, a short ride from Boyztown.
From the bottom of Second Road, Thappraya Road climbs over Pratumnak Hill and drops into Jomtien. Halfway along, Thappraya Soi 11 holds Sansuk, and Pratumnak Soi 6 has two mixed wellness saunas, THE SAUNA and Sands Sauna Beach Club (damaged by fire in June 2025, since reopened). At the Jomtien end, behind the north tip of the beach, is the Jomtien Complex, also called Supertown: two blocks of gay bars, restaurants and massage shops including M2M Cabaret and The Venue, with Bamboo's a few minutes south on Thappraya Road. The gay stretch of sand, Dongtan, is a short walk west of the Complex.
Boyztown to the Complex is about 3 km. On foot that is 45–50 minutes on a hill road with fast traffic and broken pavement, so nobody does it after midnight. Pick the end you will spend your nights at and ride to the other.

Boyztown and the Walking Street end
Copa Hotel Pattaya is as close as it gets: it shares its street number with Castro Show Bar on Soi 3, so the walk home is the stairs. It is a small mainstream hotel (4.1 from 84 Google reviews) and the price of that location is bass until the bars shut. Bring earplugs or ask for the highest, rearmost room.
P72 Hotel Walking Street is 5–7 minutes from Soi 3, at the Walking Street end of South Pattaya. Reviews (3.8 from about 685) say functional rather than pleasant. Elephant Plaza, on Second Road Soi 17, is 7–9 minutes away with a pool and balconies; at 4.0 from more than 2,700 reviews it is the safest bet of the three if you want a bit more than a bed.
At 3 am this area is busy rather than dangerous. Second Road and Beach Road have traffic and people all night. The risks are the Pattaya classics: inflated bar bills, pickpockets in the Walking Street crush, and snatch thefts on the darker stretches of Beach Road. Keep phones in front pockets.
Jomtien Complex
If you want one base for beach, bars and dinner, sleep here. Zing Resort & Spa is the largest gay-popular hotel in the Complex (about 83 rooms in a 2024 review), with a pool, a gym and a sauna that used to trade as Themae Sauna. Reviewers consistently say it stays quiet inside despite the bars around it. Dongtan Beach is about 10 minutes on foot.
The Venue Residence is a small hotel above its own cabaret bar, 1–2 minutes from M2M. Recent reviews describe it as friendly and well located, with nightly shows that are audible from street-facing rooms until around midnight. It is the cheaper of the two; one gay booking site listed rooms from about €42 (roughly US$45–50) a night, so confirm current rates directly.
At 3 am the Complex itself is lit and staffed. The walk from the Complex to the beach after dark is not; see the safety section.

Thappraya Road and Pratumnak
This is the in-between zone: quieter sois, pools, lower prices, and a 5-minute ride to either scene. Baan Souy Resort on Soi 15 (4.6 from about 186 reviews) has a decent pool and is 4–6 minutes from Sansuk and 17–19 minutes from the Complex, mostly flat on the Jomtien side. Aloft Hotel and Hostel nearby (not the Marriott brand) has dorms and private rooms, 6–8 minutes from Sansuk and 18–20 from the Complex; reviews are mixed at 3.4. Le Prive Resort on Thappraya Soi 1 sits near the top of the hill, 15–17 minutes from Boyztown and 30–33 from the Complex; it has few reviews (28) but they are good.
Walking Thappraya Road at night means narrow or missing pavements, dark patches and motorbikes. Fine at 9 pm, a Bolt at 3 am.
Inland: Soi Buakhao, Second Road east and Third Road
Most of Pattaya's best-reviewed cheap hotels sit inland, and Sunee Plaza is nearby. Intimate Hotel on Second Road is 10–12 minutes from Boyztown (4.2 from about 750). Amethyst Hotel off Soi Buakhao is 12–14 minutes (4.6 from about 420). BR-Guesthouse is 13–15 minutes, a small budget place with little online presence beyond Facebook. Further out on Soi Durian off Third Road, Vogue Pattaya Hotel is 16–18 minutes and Hotel Amber 21–23 minutes; Amber's 4.8 from more than 6,500 Google reviews is the most consistent score in town. High5 Guesthouse (17–19 minutes) and Blackwoods Hotel (22–24 minutes) round out the area. Neither Vogue nor Blackwoods is a gay hotel, whatever older listings say.
Soi Buakhao at night is a busy local strip of beer bars and food stalls; walking it is fine. Third Road is a wide traffic artery with little to walk past.

Central Beach Road and beyond
Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya is 26–28 minutes north of Boyztown along Beach Road, with a lagoon pool and 4.5 from nearly 5,000 reviews. It is a family resort, but it puts you on the Pride parade route. The Seasons on Central Pattaya Road is 40–42 minutes on foot, so treat it as a baht-bus hotel. Lonops Gay Paradise is about 7.5 km inland from Boyztown; without its free shuttle into central Pattaya it would be unusable for nightlife.
Gay-owned, men-only and clothing-optional
Men-only: Sansuk is a gay men's sauna with guesthouse rooms on Thappraya Road Soi 11, and current listings in 2026 still sell those rooms under the name Sansuk Gay Sauna and Guesthouse. Guests use the sauna, pool and rooftop. Non-guests pay at the door as sauna customers (confirm the current entry price). This is the only stay in Pattaya I can confirm as men-only in 2026.
Gay-popular hotels in the Complex: Zing Resort & Spa is marketed to and used by gay men, and its in-house sauna is popular with gay non-guests too, but it takes all bookings and is not men-only. Whether it is gay-owned is unverified. The Venue Residence is run around a gay cabaret and recent reviewers describe it as a gay-friendly small hotel; ownership is unverified and it does not restrict guests.
Gay guesthouses with unconfirmed status: Lonops Gay Paradise is still bookable in 2026 at 80/58 Moo 7, Soi Siam Country Club (one aggregator calls it adults-only; men-only is unverified). Some listings now call it Lonops Paradise Hotel. Two gay-owned Jomtien places appear on gay booking sites: Siam House at the Jomtien Complex and Jomtien Hostel on the Soi Sarita Hotel lane, a budget guesthouse. I could not confirm either is operating as a gay guesthouse in late 2026, so confirm before booking.
Clothing-optional: I found no clothing-optional hotel in Pattaya in 2026. The Pratumnak Soi 6 saunas are mixed wellness venues, not cruise clubs.
Who left the market: no gay hotel closures were confirmed this year. Older Boyztown gay hotels still appear on aggregator lists; if a "gay hotel" has no reviews from 2025–2026, assume it has changed hands or closed until it proves otherwise.

Booking rules that bite
- Book two guests. If there is any chance of company, put two adults on the booking. A double booked for two removes the "visitor" conversation, and the price difference in Pattaya is often nothing.
- Joiner rules. Most Pattaya hotels let visitors up but ask them to leave a Thai ID card or passport at reception until they leave. That is a safety measure, not homophobia, and you want it. Some hotels add a joiner fee; ask whether there is one and how much, in writing, before you pay. Gay-popular places in the Complex are used to this. Big resorts may refuse non-registered visitors outright.
- Passport registration. Hotels must report foreign guests to immigration, so they will copy your passport at check-in.
- Tax. Pattaya has no nightly tourist tax. Rates quoted "++" add a 10% service charge and 7% VAT, which compounds to 17.7%. Check whether an OTA price already includes them.
- Entry fee. Thailand's planned 300-baht (about US$9) arrival fee was still not being collected in mid-2026; when it starts, the government says it will be bundled into air fares.
- Deposits. Expect a refundable deposit at check-in, often cash at smaller places. Get a receipt.
- Condo short lets. Renting a condo for under 30 days is not legal under Thai hotel law, and some buildings block short-stay key cards. A hotel or licensed guesthouse is simpler.
- June and New Year. Some small places set minimum stays or non-refundable rates over the Pride and Circuit weekends and at New Year; read the cancellation terms.
The gay calendar and where to book for it

Circuit Festival Asia
The 7th edition ran 19–21 June 2026, a weekend of large dance parties with international DJs, based at The Zign Hotel in Naklua, north Pattaya. Dates for 2027 are not announced as of October 2026; the pattern points to mid-June. When parties are in Naklua, Boyztown is the compromise base: close to the after-hours scene, a short Bolt from the venue. Book as soon as dates appear, because the Complex's gay-popular hotels have few rooms.
Pattaya International Pride Festival
The 2026 festival ran 26–28 June along Beach Road, with a 2.8 km beachfront parade, beach events and the Sisters Foundation's "Health Queen" pageant. Pattaya City runs it with partners, and dates for 2027 are not announced as of October 2026; expect late June. Sleep on or near Beach Road: Hard Rock or the Boyztown hotels put you on the route. In 2026 Circuit and Pride fell on consecutive weekends, which made late June a two-week gay fortnight and the busiest time in the Complex. If 2027 repeats that, book both weekends early.

The rest of the year
High season runs roughly November to February, with Christmas and New Year the tightest weeks for the Complex hotels. June is wet-season, so outside the two event weekends rooms are cheap.
Getting back at 3 am
From the airport. From Suvarnabhumi, Roong Reuang Coach (route 389) leaves Level 1, Gate 8, from about 06:00 to 22:00, takes around 2 hours and costs about 135–165 baht (about US$4). It stops at the North Pattaya and Jomtien bus stations, and the Jomtien stop is handy for the Complex. Bell Travel runs from about 08:30 to 18:00 at about 200–220 baht and drops at its North Pattaya Road office, with hotel transfers on the return. After 22:00, a pre-booked car or a Bolt or Grab is the only option; agree the price, including tolls, before you leave. U-Tapao airport, south of Jomtien, is closer if your flight uses it.
Between the scenes. Shared baht buses (songthaews) loop Beach Road southbound and Second Road northbound, and a separate route runs over Thappraya Road between South Pattaya and Jomtien. Daytime shared fares are about 10–20 baht. Late at night many drivers will only run as a private charter; agree the fare before you get in. Bolt and Grab both work in Pattaya and are the easiest way between Boyztown and the Complex after midnight, usually about 100–200 baht depending on demand. Motorbike taxis wait at soi mouths; they are fast, but you are a passenger on a Thai road at 3 am, often without a proper helmet.
Walking. Boyztown to any of the Second Road or Soi Buakhao hotels in the table is fine on foot at any hour. Thappraya Road over the hill is not a 3 am walk. Inside the Complex you are fine; the lanes from the Complex to the beach after dark are where people get robbed.

Health, safety and the law
The law. Same-sex relationships are legal and same-sex marriage has been legal in Thailand since January 2025. Nobody will question two men sharing a room.
Clinics. SWING Pattaya, a community sexual-health centre near Walking Street (about 8 minutes from Boyztown), offers free, confidential HIV and STI testing. Sisters Foundation in Soi Arunothai, Nong Prue, runs a drop-in testing centre. For PEP within 72 hours, go to a clinic or the emergency department of a private hospital such as Bangkok Hospital Pattaya on Sukhumvit Road. PrEP access for non-Thais varies, so bring enough for the trip and ask SWING about refills.
App dates and hotel rooms. Hotel-room theft after a meet-up is the most common problem visitors report in Pattaya. In 2025 police hunted a thief who targeted unlocked hotel rooms and dating-app hook-ups; in April 2026 a tourist reported 25,000 baht stolen from his hotel room after a meeting; in May 2026 an Australian was stabbed and robbed in a condo after bringing two people back. The rule: meet in a bar first, bring dates through a front desk that logs ID, lock passports and cash in the safe, and never leave a guest alone in the room.
Drugs. Thai drug penalties are severe, and that includes the chemsex staples (methamphetamine, ketamine, GHB, ecstasy). Hotels call the police, and many post fines for drug use in rooms. Vapes and e-cigarettes are illegal to import or sell.
Cannabis. Thailand ended recreational cannabis in June 2025. In 2026 you need a PT 33 prescription from a Thai-licensed practitioner to buy from a licensed shop, and public smoking can bring up to 3 months in jail and a 25,000-baht fine. Do not smoke it on a balcony.
Smoking. Pattaya and Jomtien beaches are no-smoking outside designated areas, and many hotels fine smoking in rooms.
Dongtan after dark. The beach is gay and relaxed by day, with rented chairs run by gay vendors. After the chairs are packed away the south end gets used for cruising. Public sex is illegal, the area is unlit, and robberies happen. Go with your phone and cash at the hotel, or don't go.
Three picks
Budget: Sansuk Sauna & Guesthouse. It is the only confirmed men-only stay in town, the sauna and pool are included, and from Soi 11 you are a short ride from either scene. Rooms are plain; you are paying for the building, not the bed.
Mid-range: Zing Resort & Spa. A proper pool hotel in the middle of the Jomtien Complex, with its own sauna, a 10-minute walk to Dongtan and quiet rooms despite the bars outside. If you only stay in one gay part of Pattaya, make it this one.
Splurge (by Pattaya standards): Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya. The pool is the best of anything in our listings and it sits on the Pride parade route, 26–28 minutes from Boyztown along Beach Road. Accept the children at breakfast, or book Hotel Amber instead for calmer, better-reviewed rooms 21–23 minutes inland.

Frequently asked
Is there a men-only hotel in Pattaya?
Yes, one confirmed in 2026: Sansuk Sauna & Guesthouse on Thappraya Soi 11, a gay men's sauna with rooms. Zing and The Venue in the Jomtien Complex are gay-popular but open to everyone.

Which hotel is closest to Boyztown?
Copa Hotel Pattaya, which shares a building number with Castro Show Bar on Pattayaland Soi 3. P72 Hotel is 5–7 minutes away and Elephant Plaza 7–9.
Should I stay in Boyztown or Jomtien?
Jomtien Complex if you want the gay beach, restaurants and a bar crawl that doesn't revolve around go-go stages. Boyztown if the go-go bars are the point. They are 45–50 minutes apart on foot, or about 10 minutes by Bolt.

Is there a gay beach in Pattaya?
Yes. Dongtan, the north end of Jomtien Beach, is a short walk west of the Jomtien Complex, with rented chairs run by gay vendors. Go by day; after dark it is unlit and thefts are reported.
Is there a hotel tax in Pattaya?
There is no nightly tourist tax. Rates marked "++" add a 10% service charge and 7% VAT (17.7% in total), and Thailand's planned 300-baht arrival fee was not being collected in mid-2026.

Can I bring a guest back to my hotel?
Usually yes, with the guest's ID left at reception and sometimes a joiner fee. Book the room for two adults to avoid the question, and treat the ID check as protection.
When are Pattaya Pride and Circuit Festival Asia in 2027?
Neither has announced 2027 dates as of October 2026. In 2026 Circuit ran 19–21 June and Pride 26–28 June.
