Great service by receptionist here...I stayed here just for the day time for 6,7 hrs and I am really amazed by the hospitality here. The lady in reception is just wow...super duper impressed by her service. The rooms are clean and great too and the view from top was amazing...will recommend anyone here to stay...
I went with my school and I genuinely felt like I was sleeping in an abandoned Insane asylum does graffiti all over the walls? The bathrooms are really small this wet shower couldn’t kept touching me when I was showering. I was really overstimulated 0 out of 10. Don’t recommend. Never come here unless you want to feel like you gotta get possessed.
Nostalgic visit. The venue was originally called Gowrie Hostel and many residents of Canberra lived or stayed there at some stage. Then it was ANU student accommodation and the facilities were upgraded. Now, it's a reasonable alternative to the expensive and nasty dormitory/ backpacker accommodation offered in Civic which I would not recommend.
The rooms are simple, comfortable, clean, and cozy; it was very cold outside, but the heating was perfect. The bathrooms were very clean and well stocked with amenities. The only bad was the vending machine It didn't work during my entire stay The receptionist kindly tried to help me, but they still didn't accept cards. That was the only bad thing.
Room was comfortable although I'm not crazy about the ambulant bathroom as when I showered the floor became wet, including the floor around the toilet, which means wet feet when i used the toilet. There was a lack of information regarding facilities like laundry availability so I had to keep asking staff which was annoying as the reception was a long way from my room. My key card didn't open the laundry door and the dryer was up so high i couldn't reach the controls. The IT techie was called to help connect me to the smart TV as my attempts to follow the instructions failed. I thought he had fixed it . He left and then I lost the connection, never to retrieve it again. I gave up having got the feeling that my calls for help were annoying them.
