Darwin Pride Festival
About This Event
Darwin Pride, the Northern Territory's Pride festival, has been around since 1985, courtesy of the volunteer group Top End Pride (NT) Inc. It takes place in June, when the dry season brings Darwin's weather to its peak.
The 2026 festival kicked off on June 18 and ran for four days. It started with a free launch at the Darwin Botanic Gardens Event Centre. You could take queer history walks led by historian Dr Dino Hodge, catch a show featuring eight songs from 1976 to 1990, or dance the night away at a Kylie-themed party. On June 20, Pride Under the Stars took over Casuarina Beach, with tickets going for A$35 to A$40.
The organizers claimed it was the biggest and most diverse Darwin Pride yet, but they didn't release any numbers to back it up.
As of now, the 2027 dates are still under wraps - but it's likely to happen in June again. Keep an eye on Top End Pride's site for the programme.
