Gold Coast Pride Fair Day
About This Event
Gold Coast Pride Fair Day is the free community day at the centre of Gold Coast Pride Month in June. Annual Pride celebrations on the Gold Coast date from 2021, starting with a rainbow beach walk and a fair day. The event nearly disappeared in 2025: the directors of the previous organiser, Gold Coast Rainbow Communities, resigned and that year's Fair Day was cancelled. A group of locals then formed the Gold Coast Pride Collective to bring it back.
It works like a small-city fair. A Pride march sets off first, then the day runs with market and community stalls, food trucks, a main stage with drag hosts, a drag pageant and a pet parade. It is all-ages and free.
The 2026 Fair Day was held on Saturday 27 June 2026 at HOTA, Home of the Arts, in Surfers Paradise, its first year there. The march crossed from Chevron Island and looped around the HOTA lake. Organisers said thousands came; no exact count was published. Elle Would won the drag pageant. The Collective says it hopes to return to HOTA, but the 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked.
