About the event

Celebrate Poetry Month with an evening that uplifts LGBTQIA+ voices and poetic stories. Pride & Poetry brings together LGBTQIA+ poets, performers, and community members for an open mic night in the Forum, creating space for emerging and established voices to share stories and celebrate poetry!
Featuring Special Guest Poets

Michelle McCowage & Nathanael Wright

Hear featured readings from our guest poets before stepping up to the mic yourself or sit back and enjoy an evening of local poetic talent.
What to Expect:

Open Mic Poetry & Spoken Word: Share your work or support local LGBTQIA+ poets and storytellers.
Featured Performances: Special readings from Michelle McCowage and Nathanael Wright.
VPC Pop-Up Bar: Enjoy wine, beer, sparkling and non-alcoholic options throughout the evening.
Community Connection: Meet fellow creatives, make new friends, and celebrate Poetry Month in an inclusive and welcoming space.

Open Mic Sign-Up: Available via pre-registration or on arrival. Participants will have 3 to 5 minutes each.
Join us for a warm, inclusive, and unapologetically queer celebration of Poetry Month at the Victorian Pride Centre!
