The best
Updated 20/05/2026: I didn’t want to post it here, but please see the message (screenshot) which I got from the owner after leaving the comment here. During our conversation with them I by accident sent them private picture which I have deleted from the chat. But they decided to share it to us back after the review. So kind of them. Please avoid this place. ——- We stayed at this hotel from 14/05/2026 to 17/05/2026. Room 2. Despite a very good first impression after a short morning chat with a man and woman (who seemed to be the owners), the rest of our experience was very disappointing. 1) Cockroaches in the room On 15/05, when we returned to the hotel, we found two cockroaches, including one inside our bed. We killed one and reported it to the owner, but the second one scurried away somewhere in the room. Over the next three days, the owners offered no apologies, took no action, and made no effort to resolve or prevent the issue. Their only "recommendation" was for us to leave our rubbish outside the room so they could clear it (even though we had absolutely zero rubbish in the room). We have lived in Asia for four years, and this is our first time experiencing this in a hotel. Even though we understand pests might be considered "normal" in an older building on the second floor, we still expected a formal apology and some basic action to solve the problem. 2) Unnecessary disturbances If it weren't for the first issue, I probably wouldn't even mention this and the following point. We arrived very late after our flight; there is no need to bang on the door at 9:30 AM and wake up your guests. 3) Cleanliness issues Overall, the room looked clean but felt nasty. There was a bad smell coming from the bathroom, and we found stains on the "clean" towels. Positives: The location is good. It is not far from the city center and is right next to the bus station. The room itself is just "okay." Internet speed in room 2 is very good. No noise observed. The owners often state in their review replies that "you get what you pay for." However, I should point out that just a couple of stations away, you can book a one-year-old excellent hotel for a cheaper price. Where we stay after staying here.
The hotel is very centrally located near the train station, and bus stops are just a few meters away. The room was superbly equipped and incredibly clean. George was always helpful, very accommodating, and incredibly kind. We had a wonderful stay!
After a spontaneous event booking in Sydney, we needed somewhere to stay for the weekend. Scroll internally through booking.com I stumbled across Hotel 59. The location drew me in and the reasonable pricing! We arrived at night so the detailed instructions from George were super helpful. We were offered additional supplies as I was writing this review as well! The rooms are side by side to each other so you’ll hear your neighbours activities, however not a big deal. Room was clean and tidy, need I say less! Thanks team.
I really like this quiet and modest hotel, in a residential area, but very close to the city center! King Cross metro is nearby and shops are within walking distance. Thank you! ❤
The location was the best thing about it, close to the subway, restaurants, and a supermarket. The housekeeper or owner (we never found out which) was very kind and helpful, always assisting us with a smile. BUT the bed was horribly uncomfortable, smelled like a poorly ventilated house, and they didn't change our towels during our 7-day stay, sometimes only replenishing the toilet paper and soap. The rooms were very small but comfortable. You can hear absolutely EVERYTHING that happens behind the doors. Very expensive, but the location was good, and the housekeeper was very kind and helpful.
