Palms on Oxford

My partner and I have been patrons of palms for last 6 years,the doorman has always been respectful, but the inside security staff less so , last night my partner and I were discussing privately a staff member, we did not know it was a staff member, not that that makes a difference, another security guy overheard our conversation,and asked us to leave the venue this is unacceptable 🤷‍♂️

Palms has been since years a consistent beautiful dance club with amazing music for everyone and friendly staff welcoming ALL. Beautiful stunning drag “Peaches” at the door tonight made me laugh !!! Sweet as a peach !!!! I always feel safe having their security staff around making the right decisions for us .. Enjoy !! A must visit !!💕💕💕❤️❤️🌸🌸💕🌸❤️❤️🌞🌞🌞🌞

Its a fun place to go but way too crowded

Music was awesome! Felt like I stepped back in time to a 90s gay club. Absolutely love it. Great Aussie classics too! Best Gay Club in Sydney by far. Security at the front very rude and no personality but other than that awesome 🙏❤️

I had a great time here. Entry on a Friday night was $7.50, including cloak check. My drinks were good and affordable. The crowd was attractive and friendly, and the music was great. I would come here again.

Its the worse Karaoke Experience, the world is using YouTube, their system was embarrassing - the Host Pinkie was amazing n funny, but my whole experience is very disappointing n embarrassing.

Rude door staff, nasty vibe just generally non inclusive.

You used to play 80s 90s 00s gay fun disco athens now you just play contemporary hits with techno beat. Booo!! Know your crowd

The security guards and doormen at this store have extremely poor manners, with repeated instances of racial discrimination and rude treatment of customers, completely violating the inclusivity and respect expected of an LGBTQ+ space. It is strongly recommended to avoid this location.

1 star Really disappointing and upsetting experience at Palms. We paid the entry fee, went downstairs, bought drinks, and then my partner asked a security guard where we were allowed to go with our drinks if we wanted to smoke a cigarette. The security guard downstairs indicated that we could go back upstairs to the street. When we got upstairs, the security guard on the door — a tall man with a beard — immediately became aggressive and told us we couldn’t have drinks there. I explained that his colleague downstairs had specifically told us it was okay, but instead of handling the situation professionally, he became abusive, swore at me, and spoke to us in a completely unacceptable way. I understand venues have licensing rules and security staff have a job to do, but customers should not be abused for following instructions given by another member of the venue’s own security team. The issue could have been resolved calmly in seconds. Instead, we were treated with hostility and disrespect. We felt so threatened by the way he behaved that we left two full drinks on the stairs and departed the venue immediately. We had paid entry, bought drinks, and then left almost straight away because the security guard’s conduct made us feel unsafe. A venue on Oxford Street should know better. Security staff are often the face of the business, and this interaction completely ruined the night. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Palms.

A safe haven for gays. Great music to sing along to and vibe with. Friendly mixed crowd.

Used to be good once upon a time, now a tacky cash-grab. Avoid.
