Qtopia Sydney

Absolutely fabulous experience with history, laughter and tears. A captivating place for lgbtqia+ history here in Sydney. Thank you to the team from qtopia for a wonderful experience.

Qtopia is a special kind of place highlighting the struggles of my community and the Greater Oxford St area. They are located in the old Darlinghurst Police Station, a place 58 peaceful protesters were taken to and many were bashed and 1 almost killed. Over the many yrs it was active it had many corrupt police officers working within. It now houses many displays of the fight my community has endured over decades and also has 3 performance spaces offering a safe place for a variety of diverse groups. Well worth a visit when in Sydney all year round including Mardi Gras and Pride Month. I myself am a 78er and highly recommended a visit. A quick Thank You to the staff and Volunteers who will welcome you with a smile.

Amazing place!

Not at all what I expected. It was a really touching experience. Confronting and hopeful at the same time.

A small, but wonderful and moving museum! Has a great mix of more sombre and celebratory exhibitions - very poignant location in the old Darlinghurst Police Station. The substation/toilet block building was particularly well done!

Educational, inspirational and do well worth visiting. Made me aware and mindful of how LGBTQI +++ community have worked so hard historically and today to call out ignorance, prejudice and injustice.
