About the event

Join us as we remember the past, reflect on the present and look to the future.

We gather at sunrise to commemorate those in our communities we’ve lost to violence - and re-commit to ending bigotry and prejudice in all its forms.

A free event presented by ACON as part of the 2027 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival.

All are welcome to join and reflect with us at the Rise Memorial in Marks Park. Officially opened in 2021, the memorial is dedicated to the victims and survivors of homophobic and transphobic violence. The space is founded on the principles of remembrance, diversity, inclusion, justice and acceptance.

6:15am arrivals for 6:30am start.

Accessibility: Due to the uneven terrain of some areas of Marks Park, this area may not be accessible to all patrons.
