Ichinao

This was the most disappointing accommodation on our family trip to Japan. We had to clean our own room as it was awfully dirty. Mould in ladies shower and microwave unusable. Did not see any staff member for the entire trip. Laughable what is defined as express / self check in. If you have trouble getting access to the key to the room you are in for a long wait. Suggest you look elsewhere as there are much nicer places in Tokyo.

Imagine arriving from a long trip from Mexico only to find out the check-in information is false, freezing cold, and receiving no response. On top of that, the room you were supposedly assigned was already occupied by someone else. This happened to me at this hotel, which is a complete rip-off. It's awful. Avoid this experience because you'll have to find a last-minute hotel and spend more than you planned.

Terrible experience with this hotel. The room my boyfriend had already booked was taken by other people; they stole our key and left us without a room.

The room is quite small for a three-person room. It's not as dirty as other reviews have mentioned, but the bathroom door edges and other small details aren't as well-cleaned. However, considering the price, it's acceptable. It seems to be frequented by many foreign tourists, so you can hear footsteps and voices. While the toilet and bathroom are shared, there's no kitchen or living room, so everyone stays in their rooms, so it wasn't a problem. There's a nice sofa outside under the stairs where you can relax and have a smoke.

There are a lot of bad reviews, but this is a venerable, old-fashioned love hotel (what we'd call a love hotel today), so if you think of it that way, it's fine 🙌

The reviews made us worry, but it was just fine! The guy cleaning kindly came out and gave us permission to lock our bicycles safely in the back yard. The toilets and showers were clean. It's utilitarian and efficient, which is fine for a backpackers. Our private room was good. There were some small damage marks on the side of the bed base, but everything else in the room was perfect. It was quiet at night. Check in was easy and we got our key out of the lock box and walked straight in. It's a backpackers, not a hotel. It's a pretty good backpackers in our opinion.
