We had an amazing time there. Toru, the owner, was so kind and welcoming. Great drinks and music for a cosy bar in Osaka! Toru makes also cute drawings of his customers. Defo visit if you are around and enjoy :)

I'm so glad I visited this place on my first trip to Japan 🥰 The atmosphere was fantastic, the owner was very friendly and lovely, and took great care of the guests.

A fantastic place! A must if you're in Osaka for a drink in the Namba area. The conversation with Toru, the owner, was great; he makes you feel right at home. Excellent drinks and food. He even drew us a picture we'll never forget. Highly recommended!!

I went to Pokapoka-ya with my Taiwanese friend because we wanted to try a Japanese bar. As the comments said, the owner is very friendly to foreigners. If I ever come back to Osaka, I'll definitely come again!

Most wholesome bar I’ve been while in Japan. It’s a cosy bar with super friendly local customers, and Toru-san is the best host. We wanted to go to a place to have a quick drink and have a chat with some local people, we ended up spending two hours there. Toru-san even made a drawing of us wishing us a happy honeymoon trip, making the whole experience even more wholesome. We’ll definitely come back here next time we travel to Osaka!

We were impressed by the host Toru-san’s hospitality in taking care of the guests. Host gave us tips on surviving the Osaka Expo heat and waiting lines. He also drew a sketch on our stamp collection book and a digital drawing for me and my partner’s birthday. A small bar with around six seats. Come for the good vibes and enjoy a time with Toru and locals or other customers. We will come back on our next trip.

Toru is a super friendly host and works hard to make sure everyone feels included. We visited as 2 gaijin and he made us feel welcome and we had a few nice conversations with him and the locals. It was a very wholesome few hours and I'm really glad we visited! I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Osaka!

If you're in the area you should definitely give Pokapokaya a go. Toru is a wonderful host, a fantastic artist and very friendly and welcoming to all who wish to visit. The drinks are great, the place is small but cozy and with a lovely atmosphere. You'll have a wonderful time here.

Toru is the ultimate host, and coming to this bar feels like visiting someone’s home. Everyone is friendly and the patrons chat with each other. The otoshi here comes with a plethora of options, most of them good - a far cry from most other bars in Osaka. Love Toru, and love his bar. If you’re lucky Toru will sketch you - he is a super gifted visual artist.

I had a wonderful evening here. The owner, Toru, was incredibly welcoming, and the bar had a fantastic atmosphere. We chatted about many interesting things with everyone. Toru even drew pictures for us – they were so cute! I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Osaka.
