It truly is one of Japan's leading hotels!
Several months ago, we booked a room for two adults and one child aged four and a half via the IMPÉRIAL website. On arrival, we found a tiny room with a double bed (160 cm wide), NO CHILD’S BED and no breakfast included for our child. We were told that breakfast would cost an extra €20 per day, and we had to pay an additional 652 euros (30,000 yen) for a child’s bed. Is it normal for three of us to have to sleep in the same 160-cm bed when we’ve booked a room for three? No! We do not recommend this hotel, even though it is ideally located.
I was left with a slightly disappointing impression by one male staff member. As I was heading down the stairs near the lobby to check out, I saw a couple taking wedding photos on those stairs. With check-out time approaching, I wanted to hurry down the stairs and check out, but it seemed difficult, so I asked the male staff member there, "How do I get to the front desk?" He simply said, "There are stairs further inside," without any apology. He could see I was pulling a suitcase, so I thought he could have at least directed me to the elevator or apologized for having to take a detour and use a different staircase. It's not his fault that the stairs were unusable for the wedding photoshoot, but since they were making hotel facilities unusable, I thought it would have been kinder for him to at least inform everyone. Perhaps I was just overthinking it because the other staff members were so attentive...
I didn't stay overnight, but I attended the dinner show. All the dishes were delicious, and I had a wonderful, elegant time ✨ The staff even took photos for me.
