Maitai Whare Iti
Visitors praise Maitai Whare Iti for its peaceful, natural setting with beautiful views and proximity to walks, and many found the hosts friendly and the cabins well-equipped. A recurring complaint is that the WiFi is only available in the common room and not in the cabins, which caused issues for some guests needing to work.

Wonderful place to stay outside Nelson. It feels secluded but it is a quick drive into town.
A little haven in the trees! Amazing little spot to spend two nights in Nelson - we were mountain biking and had a wedding to go to in the evening. Everything was suitable for both activities! Cosy and peaceful cabins nestled in native forest with comfy beds and everything we needed! The cabins are well stocked with kitchenette, great ensuite and enough space to chill downstairs. Stunning communal kitchen and shared area to access if we needed more cooking space. Our hosts had great recommendations on biking in the area and made our whole experience easy as, even when our check in was delayed until 10.30pm! If you’re looking for bike friendly (and DOG friendly) accommodation in Nelson that is amazing and unique definitely head to Maitai Whare Iti!
We loved our stay here with our kids!
We loved our stay. Beautiful cabins build and decorated with eye for detail. The central area was also nicely done. Loved the gardens, the welcome we received and just the general vibe. The mattress and the shower were top notch.
Most amazing place. Definately no issue in recommending this accomodation. The owners could not be more accommodating nothing was to much bother.
Hosts were friendly and approachable. Cabins are good for 2 pax. Sofa bed is also available. Only thing is you need to climb up a short steep section to the cabin. Good for those who need time away from gadgets as there are no wifi in the cabin.
