Nice and quiet. Not far from the main town on Levin but far enough for peace and calm. Lovely and welcoming owners went out their way to make sure we were comfortable.

For me, this is my favourite place to stay on the coast. Close to otaki shops, has Manakau Market opposite side of road. Good place for some quiet RnR.

Lovely place to stay. Just love the history off this beautiful Hotel and the lovely hosts who really look after you. So welcoming arriving to the fire going and alway a friendly welcome. Our 3rd stay here now and it's like a home away from for us. Great that it is dog friendly so I can have my best mate stay with me and he is treated like royalty

Wonderful dog friendly Hotel. So much to see in this quaint, beautifully decorated piece of NZ history. Very welcoming hosts with a cup of coffee ready to go in the shared kitchen space. Plenty of shared bathrooms, a lovely fenced garden bar area in the back and a pool table in the lounge area. Highly reccomended.

I found this place after looking on the map for somewhere out of Wellington but close enough to dash to a midmorning ferry sailing to Picton. It is very charming the beds are comfy and the rooms are a great price. We liked it so much we decided to book it for the return trip 2 weeks later, as our ferry came in at 6pm. We stopped in at Otaki (a few minutes south) to grab some dinner. Mischelle remembered me and asked about our South Island trip, which was nice. We had some friendly people to talk to in the communal kitchenette, which was lovely. Some people might be bothered by the trains going past occasionally but it didn't bother me. I recommend this place if you want somewhere different with some personality.

Fabulous place, i highly recommend it. The old house is full of charm. The owner was helpful, and a delight. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was definitly a highlight of my trip.
