Woodvale Lodge

I am not usually someone to go out of my way to leave low reviews but I am pretty disappointed in my dealings with Richard when booking this accommodation for my wedding. I contacted him over a year in advance in my attempt to book Woodvale Lodge, after waiting some time between replies, price increases and being guided away from booking via Airbnb by the owner, we exchanged many emails over the months regarding the dates of booking and who would be staying. I noticed communications dropping off as soon as I informed him that I wanted to reduce my nightly stay from 4 nights to 2. Then after that I had to chase him up for a quote for my dates which he sent were for the wrong month (despite the many emails prior with the correct month). When I brought this to his attention he informed me suddenly that my dates were no longer available and the best he could do was offer me the days before my wedding because he booked it out to someone else. I would think if multiple potential clients were interested in the same date and communicating with you about this (especially when it is a special event such as a wedding!) you would let them know to get a deposit in asap and secure their dates? Instead, I was completely blindsided by this and left with "Sorry if this doesn't work for you" and then cut off from all communications. For such expensive and boutique accommodation I expected far better customer service than this. Very disappointing.

Woodvale Lodge is incredible! We had the best time there with our friends. The lodge is just stunning. Beautiful grounds, cozy rooms – it's the perfect place to relax and have fun. Would recommend to anyone.

Given the challenge of finding suitable venues for a team retreat, i was astonished at how lucky we were to have had Woodvale recommended to us. Spacious, peaceful, plenty of work areas, and awesome areas for conviviality, this is easily the best venue we've had in the more than 10 years of team retreats in our business. Woodvale was the perfect location for our Team Meeting! Well set up with screens/whiteboard, and a stunning venue with plenty of space for a lot of people. The kitchen is really well stocked with everything you could need. Bedrooms are lovely and comfortable with lush linen. Highly recommend and will be staying again! Thanks Pam & Rick, great hosts!

I am pleased to share this review of our group's stay during 05-07 April, with the lovely Rick and Pam, at their luxurious Woodvale Lodge. The property comprises a working farm on several hectare of lush green pasture, with an orchard, beautifully manicured gardens, a pool with pavillion, and all this surrounding a modern, architecturally designed homestead. Woodvale Lodge offers the epitome of privacy with its semi-rural setting, just a short 25min from downtown Auckland. Located in the center of New Zealand's first wine producing region, should guests prefer not to take advantage of the amply equipped commercial standard kitchen, Woodvale Lodge is positioned to ensure easy access to a number of dining options from casual to fine-dining, all within 5 to 15min drive. Preferring to self-cater, the kitchen has every conceivable gadget to make preparation and mealtime both a pleasure and a breeze for all guests. A separate formal dining-room and a substantial outdoor heated patio provide plenty of space to enjoy your own culinary delights. There are seven generously proportioned bedrooms equipped with super-king, king, queen and king-single beds, with most rooms able to be configured to meet guest preferences; something Rick and Pam endeavour to do. Amongst these, is a magnificent master suite, with super-king sleigh bed, double rain-head shower, a bath for those deep soaks everyone enjoys after a day of tramping, cycling, or simply to indulge, along with a walk-in wardrobe the size of small apartment. All beds come with sumptuous high quality mattresses, offering comfort in the best linen to ensure restful sleep. All bathrooms (there are two shared and two ensuites), are lavish and well equipped, with Rick and Pam providing those special touches including lots of extra towels, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, and more. From the outset, contact and communication with Rick and Pam was polite, prompt, and professional. On arrival, we were given time to settle in before our hosts called by to meet and greet our team. Once inside, we found a fridge and pantry equipped with sufficient supplies to create a meal without needing to head out to the store or a restaurant, including a generous serve of Woodvale Farm beef sausages and mince, and eggs from the Farm chooks. At the end of the day, any lodging, regardless of how humble or grand, is only as good as its host and the hospitality they extend. That said, you will find that Woodvale Lodge is spectacular not only because of its design, dimensions, and decor, but more importantly, you will feel that Woodvale Lodge is special, because of its heart, soul, serenity, and the aroha (love) imbued through its people... Rick and Pam. Our team of 10 all agree that Woodvale Lodge is more than worthy of a five-star rating. We feel privileged to number amongst the many guests who will cross the threshold at Woodvale Lodge, and enjoy connecting with owner/host Rick and Pam. Woodvale Lodge is absolutely stunning! We stayed here for a get together with friends and enjoyed every minute of it. Rick and Pam have put so much effort into this property, and it shows. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms well suited for any guests. We felt so relaxed and would recommend this lodge to everyone.

When looking for a venue outside the square for a corporate retreat I came across Woodvale Lodge. It is a great alternative to a traditional conference venue, as it offers all the facilities you need in a serene and scenic setting. You can get away from it all and focus on your team building, brainstorming, and strategic planning. The Lodge is spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. There are several living areas one of which we used for a meeting area, great indoor/outdoor flow with plenty of room to dine indoors or alfresco. The grounds are beautiful, with a swimming pool onsite and walking and biking trails close by to utilise. Rick and Pam are amazing hosts, very accommodating and hands on. They organised catering for our first night from a local caterer which was amazing and a great option. Our team had a great couple of days at Woodvale Lodge. We were able to focus on work objectives and have some fun at the same time. Highly recommend!

Woodvale lodge is a wonderful location to have a family celebration. Pan and Rick were extremely helpful and welcoming. The lodge is in a beautiful rural location and is kept in pristine condition, feeling luxurious and comfortable. It is very well equipped for larger family groups and small functions. The pool was fabulous and our lovely hosts even turned on good weather for our celebration weekend. We highly recommend staying here

Woodvale Lodge provided an ideal stay for us during our wedding in Kumeu. Pam and Rick were wonderfully accommodating. Communication was effortless, and the lodge itself was stunningly beautiful. We arrived to find an impeccably clean place to stay. We highly recommend Woodvale Lodge – you won't be disappointed!
