Ayala Triangle Gardens

Ayala Triangle Gardens is a landscaped park wedged between Ayala Avenue, Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue at the heart of the Makati central business district. By day it is a mainstream green space full of office workers, joggers and diners. After dark it also has a long, discreet reputation — dating back to its earlier incarnation as Ugarte Field in the 1980s — as a low-key gay cruising spot, and it still appears on cruising directories today. Be realistic about the setting: this is a busy, heavily policed and well-lit corporate district, not a secluded park, so any activity is very discreet and far from guaranteed. Same-sex conduct is legal in the Philippines, but public indecency and solicitation are not, and CBD security is ever-present. Treat it primarily as a pleasant public garden, keep to public areas, stay aware of your surroundings and belongings, and use one of Makati's dedicated bars if you are looking to meet people.
