About this place Z Hostel

Z Hostel is a large, design-focused hostel in Makati, in the Poblacion area that has become one of Metro Manila's main nightlife districts. It has dorms and private rooms, and its rooftop bar draws both guests and outsiders in the evenings. It is a mainstream hostel, listed here as gay-friendly; it is not a gay venue. With nearly 2,000 reviews and a solid rating, it is one of the better-known budget options in the city. The crowd is young and international, and the place is social and can be noisy. If you want quiet, book a private room and ask for one away from the rooftop.

Everything was fine. Only lost 1 star because my bed in the dorm was squeeky.

NO CURTAINS in the shared rooms' bunk beds, including the mixed ones. So there's barely any sense of privacy, nor honestly, protection esp if you're female who ended up in the mixed room. I saw a few reviews on a booking app saying the same thing. I asked the receptionist if it's really normal that there are no curtains, and I was told there are none yet. But given the months-old comments about it, I don't know if it's actually on purpose. Their reasons aside, if you are uncomfortable with the lack of privacy which I very much was, pls confirm first if they have curtains or not. Otherwise, I appreciate the simple but good breakfast with brewed coffee, the rooftop bar and the complementary drink, and the white sheets and towels. Couldn't see a blowdryer tho. The place does have a good, comfy vibe, too.
