I stayed at Hop Inn Makati for 3 nights (May 16–19) for leisure. My initial room was disappointing, as there were noticeable stains on the ceiling, and the bathroom floor appeared to be inadequately cleaned. After my first night, I raised the concern with the front desk and requested a room transfer. I would like to commend Janna from the front desk for taking my concern seriously and properly endorsing my request to the next personnel on duty. Thanks to the smooth coordination between shifts, my room transfer was processed the following day efficiently. The new room was significantly cleaner and better maintained. I also appreciated that the bed linens and towels were clean, fresh, and well-prepared throughout my stay. However, I noticed that the secondary security lock (the additional door latch for guest safety) in the new room was misaligned and could not be properly engaged. While the main door lock functioned normally, I hope this can be addressed as it is an important security feature for guests. What stood out most during my stay was the professionalism and responsiveness of the front desk team in handling guest concerns. Their willingness to listen and take action helped improve my overall experience. The hotel's location is convenient for exploring Makati, and it offers good value for travelers looking for an affordable and practical place to stay. I would recommend strengthening room inspections before guest check-in, particularly regarding cleanliness and maintenance details. With more consistent room quality, I would gladly consider staying here again on a future visit.

Request for a quiet side sñorba higher floor so you want hear the honking cars and traffoc downstairs. I like this hotel lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Near power pkant and a few minutes from greenbelt glorieta. Simple and functional for passerby or short trips

Absolutely terrible experience. I booked 2 rooms for 3 nights through Booking.com, but due to an urgent and unavoidable situation, I could not travel to the Philippines. I informed them early in the morning as soon as I knew I would not be able to make the trip. I would have completely understood if they had charged me for the first night, but keeping virtually the entire payment for all 3 nights and refunding only around 700 pesos is unreasonable and excessive. What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of accountability. The hotel told me to contact Booking.com, while Booking.com told me to contact the hotel. Both sides kept passing the responsibility back and forth, leaving me with no real assistance and no meaningful resolution. A fair business would try to work with customers facing genuine emergencies. Instead, I was charged almost the full amount for a stay that never happened and then left to deal with a frustrating blame game between the hotel and Booking.com. Extremely disappointing experience and poor customer service. Based on how this situation was handled, I would not recommend this hotel chain to anyone.

At this price, it deserves a perfect 5 out of 5~ The staff were so stingy! I gave it 4 points because there was no refrigerator~ Anyway, it is a place I would like to visit again later.

Update April 26, 2026 After two years, I stayed here again for four nights. Everything was fine again. The only issue was that the water heater wasn't working, and there was no hot water. .......................................... The Hop Inn is a budget hotel. Nevertheless, it's perfectly comfortable for several days (I stayed six nights). I found the location good. Rockwell is about a 20-minute walk away. The MRT/LRT stations are a bit further on foot. It's better to order a Grab for those. The hotel is located at a busy intersection. If you have a room at the front, you might experience some noise. I had a room at the back. The residents there were having a lively and loud party from Saturday evening until 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning. So... bring earplugs. The rooms are large and minimally furnished. The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked very well. There's no wardrobe, but there is a place to hang clothes. There's storage space under the bed for suitcases. The bathroom is excessively large. Hot water is only available in the shower via an instant water heater. The shower also has a dispenser with a 2-in-1 shower gel/shampoo that can also be used for handwashing. The Hop Inn aims to be environmentally friendly. Therefore, they don't provide the usual two bottles of water in plastic bottles. Instead, you can fill your own container from a water dispenser on each floor. Furthermore, room cleaning with towel changes is normally only provided every three days, OR upon request. You can send this request to reception via the Viber chat platform. This worked quite well. Overall, the cleanliness could have been a bit better, although I admit I'm quite picky. The price-performance ratio is very good. You don't need any more hotel than this.

I booked a few nights here to explore the city and quickly regretted the choice. The price is decent, but that’s the only positive. Reception staff are cordial yet unhelpful, seemingly focused on refusing any guest requests. The ‘superior double room’ I reserved was cramped and uncomfortable, with noise from the Makati location adding to the frustration. Basic amenities like an electric kettle or slippers were missing. The bed wasn't comfortable for the back. Overall, I cannot recommend this property—except perhaps for a quick one‑night transit stay.
