O-Bar

This place is technically a gay bar, but it really feels like a top-tier entertainment venue first. The drag shows are world-class and the crowd energy is infectious! I loved the variety in the program—the segments with the male dancers were sexy but tasteful (not trashy at all), and the female singers showcased some serious vocal prowess. If you appreciate high-quality performance art and a great vibe, this is a must-visit.

Came here with my bf while visiting from Los Angeles. It’s kind of an awkward place and felt like a middle school prom. It’s mostly table service with people not really leaving their tables. So if you’re looking to socialize or to meet locals this isn’t the best. As someone from NYC I’d say the drag is kind of basic and lackluster but I know I’m biased because I am used to drag at the highest level. The service is very friendly and attentive and that’s the best thing it’s got going for it. Can’t say I’ll ever come back and probably wouldn’t recommend it to a friend because it just felt like mediocre dinner theater meant for a bachelorette party to enjoy. Also it’s cold as hell inside so bring a jacket.

The performance was indeed spectacular, the drag queens were incredibly talented, and the atmosphere was electric – that was the only redeeming quality. However, the entire experience was riddled with deception and discrimination: the entrance fee was listed at 500 pesos, but they actually charged 1200 pesos; without a 3000 VIP reservation, you were repeatedly ushered and moved around five times, sometimes even squeezed into a corner on the stairs with no view of the show. Space management was extremely chaotic; someone only 1.9 meters tall missed half the performance. Ironically, heterosexual customers enjoyed comfortable seating while gay customers were forced to stand in the back, completely contradicting the egalitarian principles of a gay community. Drinks were expensive, and service was inconsistent; some servers deliberately forgot to give change. While the performance itself was excellent, this double standard, price gouging, and poor space management made the entire experience frustrating. Unless you're willing to spend a fortune on a VIP reservation, I wouldn't recommend coming.
