I recently stayed at the Seda Hotel in Manila for 5 days, and I deeply regret my decision to pay extra for a breakfast-inclusive booking. I never imagined that a major hotel brand like Seda could fail so completely, not just in their kitchen, but in their basic customer service. Cold and Unwelcoming Front Desk: The disappointing experience started the moment I arrived. The check-in process was completely soulless—there was no welcome, no welcome drink, and it was an extremely silent, transactional check-in. I have never seen a hotel of this caliber lack such basic hospitality. Unfortunately, the check-out was exactly the same: a silent, cold "bye." For a premium brand, you expect warmth and courtesy, but the staff here felt entirely indifferent. A Major Failure with the Breakfast Buffet: However, the biggest issue during my stay was the breakfast menu. While they boast a large, seemingly impressive spread of 30 to 40 items, there were practically zero options for a vegetarian. Out of that entire buffet, there were only 1 or 2 items that seemed vegetarian-friendly at first glance. Worse yet, upon checking with the staff, I found out those 1 or 2 items were prepared in the exact same facility and cooked in the exact same oil used for the non-vegetarian dishes. For anyone who strictly follows a vegetarian diet, this level of cross-contamination is completely unacceptable. As a result, I spent my entire 5-day stay surviving purely on processed juice and some fruits for breakfast. In short: It is incredibly frustrating to pay premium prices for an inclusive stay only to be treated like an inconvenience at the front desk and left hungry every morning. If you are a vegetarian looking to book this hotel and actually wish to have real food, I highly recommend considering this feedback and looking for other options in Manila that actually understand hospitality and accommodate dietary preferences. Seda completely missed the mark here.
