Quezon City Pride Festival
About This Event
Quezon City's Pride is unusual: the city government runs it. The Pride PH Festival, branded "LoveLaban," is co-organized by Quezon City's Gender and Development Council with the Pride PH Coalition and, since 2025, the University of the Philippines Diliman. Laban means fight in Filipino, and the name sums up the mix of party and lobbying.
It's young. The first edition in June 2022 drew about 25,000 people, with roughly 5,000 marching from the Quezon Memorial Circle. In 2023 the count was 110,752, and the city used the event to launch its Right to Care card, which lets same-sex partners make medical decisions for each other. In 2024 the crowd hit around 200,000 (the city says 228,000), and a storm forced the evening concert to be cancelled mid-show. By 2025 Mayor Joy Belmonte said the Memorial Circle was too small, and the march moved to the UP Diliman campus on June 28, 2025.
How it works: a march in the afternoon, then an expo, food stalls and a night concert on the campus. In 2026 the city added Pride Villages at Araneta City in Cubao and, for the first time, along Maginhawa Street, the food strip in Teachers Village. Entry is free.
Practical advice from people who've been: it's rainy season, so bring a poncho rather than an umbrella. Getting out of Diliman after the concert is the hard part, so plan your ride or walk out toward Katipunan before the crowd moves.
The 2026 march took place on Saturday, June 27, at UP Diliman. The Quezon Police District counted more than 230,000 attendees by 7 p.m., not including the Maginhawa and Araneta villages; the city's own tally is 320,000-plus. Either way, it's far bigger than the 2023 edition the city once billed as Southeast Asia's largest Pride march. It's usually the last Saturday of June, but the 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked.
