Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park

Perfect hotel for exploring Bangkok and the Silom gay district. Amazing breakfast. Superb pool, especially at night. Excellent hotel. A must-see.

Update: I appreciate the hotel’s response, but I would like to clarify one important point. Management did not remain in contact with me after my stay—I was the one who repeatedly reached out while at the hotel and after I left. I had to ask for every form of assistance myself, including transportation and compensation, after what was supposed to be our wedding anniversary celebration was ruined. I only hope future guests receive more proactive care and support than we did. We chose Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but it became one of the most disappointing hotel stays we’ve ever had. After check-in, we were told we would have to change rooms, and our anniversary evening was interrupted by staff contacting us about the move. The final straw came at breakfast. We suddenly heard a loud thump and felt the vibration near our table. When we looked down, an enormous cockroach had dropped right beside us. My wife immediately moved to another table and then went back to our room because she was so upset. I stayed behind for nearly an hour trying to figure out what to do, and we ultimately decided to leave the hotel early. I have video and photo evidence of the incident. What disappointed me most was not only the incidents themselves, but that after everything that happened, we had to ask for every form of assistance ourselves instead of the hotel proactively helping us during what was supposed to be a special anniversary trip.

Having worked in the service and hospitality industry, I can be a demanding guest. But at Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini, demands are unnecessary. Quality services are consistently delivered. Frontline associates are the cornerstones of hospitality, and dedicated professionals like Candi and her Club Team Members, Kathy, Ben, Daisy and Namnao are a credit to the brand and reputation of Crowne Plaza and IHG. I have inadvertently observed Candi’s ability to multi-task with seemingly effortless transition. Nothing in her job description is beneath, beyond or too hard for her. She could be clearing and cleaning tables, re-setting them for the next session, or crouching to wipe spilt wine off the floor and in the very next moment, with practised poise and a genuine smile, courteously attend to a new guest at the check-in desk. This is efficiency and effectiveness in action. Candi and her team are not merely frontline employees. They are ambassadors who have made my stay, and that of my travel companions, Randall, Thomas and Harrison, at the Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini in particular, and in Thailand in general, just that bit more pleasant, more enjoyable and more memorable.
