About this place Mode Sathorn Hotel

Mode Sathorn Hotel holds the distinction of being Bangkok's first dedicated party hotel for LGBTQ+ travellers, opening its doors in 2013. Located in the vibrant Silom area, the hotel sits close to Surasak BTS Skytrain Station, making it convenient for exploring Bangkok's gay scene and wider attractions. The property combines a modern, colourful aesthetic with practical amenities designed for a full stay rather than just a night out. The hotel's centrepiece is its 38th floor rooftop bar, offering views across Bangkok alongside entertainment and social space. Beyond the party atmosphere, Mode Sathorn provides several on-site restaurants for dining options, a swimming pool with views, a fitness gym, and a spa — giving you plenty of ways to spend downtime or recover between nights out. This range of facilities means you can enjoy a complete hotel experience rather than just a base for clubbing. As Bangkok's dedicated gay hotel, this venue represents the city's established LGBTQ+ hospitality infrastructure. The Silom neighbourhood itself is the heart of Bangkok's gay district, so you'll be positioned perfectly to access bars, clubs, and other gay-friendly venues in the area. Whether you're visiting for the nightlife, the culture, or simply want to stay somewhere explicitly welcoming to LGBTQ+ guests, Mode Sathorn Hotel offers a full-service option with its own social and recreational spaces built in.

Our flight was leaving early and we left the hotel before breakfast time, and they didn't prepare anything for us.

Room was nice and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was also great. The hotel also has a really nice roof-top bar on the 38th floor. However, I can only give the room three stars because of the bathroom and lighting settings. The bathroom was gorgeous and had a spacious shower and a bath with views over the city. Lovely altogether. BUT it was accessed via a sliding, glass door from the bedroom. This door was completely see-through. It was kind of frosted or embossed but to no effect. This meant absolutely no privacy, and even in marriage, some aspects of bodily function should remain a mystery!! The other problem was the way the lights worked in the room. The controls for the lights were on a panel at one side of the bed. There was fully off, on or sleep mode (where one light in the room and bathroom were left on). There was no separate switch for the bathroom lights - This meant that when Sleep mode had to be left on all night so that there was a light left on in the bathroom so that the person on the other side of the bed had light in the bathroom if they needed to use it during the night. The alernative was to have all the lights off and risk an injury stumbling to and around the bathroom at night.

Superbly located right next to the BTS Skytrain station. A lovely pool and amazing views from the 37th-floor restaurant. The room was also fantastic, with the bathroom and bathtub right outside the window. The view from the 29th floor is breathtaking. The only minor drawbacks were that the room could be a bit more modern, and it would be nicer if the displays on the lighting controls turned off at night. The breakfast was also delicious and varied.

Worn out hotel with incredibly rude staff! Stay away at all cost, this lady at the reception tried to claim a fine upon check out without any proof or evidence. The worst hotel experience of my lifetime
