What reviewers say

Visitors praise the Rose Hotel for its affordable price, excellent swimming pool, and convenient central Bangkok location. However, some guests found the rooms to be basic, dated, and uncomfortable, with complaints about cleanliness and a persistent smell of smoke.

About this place Rose Hotel

The Rose Hotel is a mid-size hotel in Bangkok's Silom district, a short walk from Surawong Road and Hua Lamphong. It's gay-friendly, but not exclusively a gay hotel. Rooms here are done up in a contemporary Asian style. It's been around for decades, which says something about its stability in the area. The location is the main draw for LGBTQ+ visitors: you're within walking distance of Silom Soi 2 and Soi 4, which are Bangkok's best-known gay bar streets. The Patpong night market is also close by. Google ratings are around 3.6, but the review count is low, so it's a good idea to check recent reviews before booking to get a sense of the room condition. You'll pay around the same as other mid-size hotels in the area, but the location is a major plus. The hotel's address is convenient for getting around the rest of the city, too.

It's okay to spend the night, but there are no toothbrushes, the towels are worn out, there's a cockroach on the floor, and the air conditioning is partially broken. I stayed solely because of the proximity to the embassy.

It's old, but good considering the location and price. Bring your own toothbrush, etc. The elevator and floor levels don't match on the 5th floor, so be careful not to trip and fall. There's a bathtub. Hot water is available! It's set back from the street, so it's quiet and nice, but I couldn't find it using Google Maps.

Rooms are large and clean, late check-out is possible.
