About this place Komiteti

Komiteti is a bar in central Tirana decorated with communist-era objects: old radios, posters, furniture and other relics from the Hoxha years. It serves coffee, a long list of raki and other drinks, and attracts a mix of locals and visitors. It is a mainstream bar, not a gay one, but its crowd is relaxed and queer travellers report feeling comfortable there. It is close to Blloku, so it pairs easily with the bars there. Albania is still fairly conservative, so keep public affection low-key.

Service was excellent and gave us great cocktail recommendations. It's also one of the prettiest bars I've ever seen with live music.

A charming and unique place in Tirana with beautiful decor and a special atmosphere. Komiteti Bar feels like a little museum, showcasing Albania’s history and culture through its fascinating collection and details. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and made the experience even better. The prices are also very reasonable for such a special setting. A must-visit spot in Tirana! 🇦🇱✨

What a letdown this was. The reviews of the Communist Museum are really inaccurate now. That recognizable facade has been demolished and it looks more like a Tiki bar now. The staff were uninterested, they only have a fraction of the food on the menu here, and it is much more expensive (1100 LEK instead of 800 LEK), and on top of that, we were missing the chicken nuggets. The bruschetta was too sad for words; half of it was topped with old, soggy pieces of bread. Moreover, there was something wrong with the sewage; we kept smelling a foul odor. Feel free to skip this place in Tirana.
