Hotel Am Domplatz

Amazing weekend stay! Perfect location, wonderful service, and really friendly staff. Best of all, it's totally dog-friendly – my dog even got some lovely gifts! Highly recommend.

A lovely city center hotel in a prime location with an exceptionally friendly and dedicated hotel manager. The reception staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very clean and spacious. There's also a small, elegant hotel bar. The ambiance with the cathedral in the background is simply world-class. I always enjoy coming back. Highly recommended.

They just closed the whole street for using as terrace. Not so positive message.

Location great, everything else a flop. You can feel the negative vibes.

I am so grateful I chose this hotel. It's a modern hotel... the quality of the materials, the design, the aesthetics, the peace and quiet, and the high-quality mattress all contributed to a wonderful stay. I would especially like to mention the very friendly waitress at the breakfast buffet; she attentively cared for the guests. The food was beautifully presented, tasted delicious, and was plentiful. The underground parking garage directly beneath the hotel, with its own entrance, is very convenient. I will definitely visit this city and this hotel again soon. 🤗

Dogs allowed. Children not! Although we needed an accessible room, there was no option to stay overnight with our child!

We booked a room at the hotel from Thursday to Friday, including breakfast. I noticed some minor changes in the room, such as very thin towels and rather basic soap. However, the view of the cathedral is still breathtaking. I was particularly looking forward to the breakfast buffet, which I remembered as being excellent. So, my disappointment was all the greater: at the peak breakfast time between 8:30 and 9:30, the trays were only about a fifth full. I had to return the ham I had taken to the kitchen because it was sour. The cheese also had a hard edge and looked like it was from the day before. After I complained, the ham was removed around 9:00 and only replaced with a few fresh slices shortly before 10:00. Scrambled eggs or similar hot dishes were nowhere to be found. Furthermore, there were periods of about 20 minutes when no server was visible in the breakfast room. I've never experienced a breakfast consisting of nothing more than butter and jam for €27. Although the hotel was only sparsely occupied, it's unacceptable that the guests who were there should have to suffer as a result. I will come back – but certainly without booking breakfast again.

Unfortunately, I never even stayed there again, as customer service has been a major disadvantage over the past few years, falling far short of the hotel's own business interests. This ranges from staff who mock customer requests instead of making an effort to fulfill them, to, and probably also because of this, an arrogant hotel manager who insults customers rather than making an effort to serve them. Therefore, in the future, I will be looking for friendlier and definitely better alternatives in Linz, such as Motel One Linz, and hopefully more soon, so that such accommodations and people are no longer given a platform. ... Addendum May 17, 2022: - Thank you for your reply - This isn't about names, but about how customers are treated at your hotel - One-sided perspectives are unfortunately never productive, and certainly not customer-friendly - Unfortunately, this confirms my initial assumption about how customers are treated; I would describe it as unpleasant - Greetings from Linz's main square Addendum 2026: - It's great to keep receiving confirmation from other guests! - And from the hotel/management side, it's just constant pushback regarding anonymity and the like, no insight shown. Hopefully, this will soon come to an end for the sake of all future disappointed guests.
