A wonderful experience in a charming and very well-maintained hotel, despite (or perhaps because of) its age. The staff were very polite and helpful in the best sense of the word. Don't hesitate to stay here when visiting the center of Linz. There's a public underground parking garage just a few dozen meters from the hotel.
A truly unique hotel, far removed from the mainstream or the mass-market feel of a hotel chain! Very charming – from the rooms to the staff. This old building is simply wonderfully preserved, and anyone looking for something different should definitely stay here. The breakfast was also excellent and catered to just about every taste.
Beautiful, clean hotel. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.
A fantastic hotel right on the main square. Many good restaurants within walking distance. Excellent breakfast and very attentive staff. Great rooms with vaulted ceilings and beautiful antique furniture. We've stayed here several times and are looking forward to our next visit.
The room was old, the beds were clean, but unfortunately the towels weren't. The staff was polite and friendly. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for older people or families with children because of the many stairs. The location is very central and fine for a one-night stopover.
I found this hotel on Booking when searching for “Innerstadt Vienna,” liked it, and booked it with the non-refundable option because I was certain I would go. About 10 hours later, I realized that the hotel was not actually in central Vienna (Innere Stadt), but in Linz. I contacted the hotel, but they were not very helpful. I even canceled the reservation immediately so the room could be booked by someone else. I spoke with Booking multiple times, but in the end they said it was entirely up to the hotel. The hotel simply dismissed the situation and said it was not their responsibility. A week later, Booking’s final response was again that it was the hotel’s decision. €555 is not a small amount of money. I never stayed there, never even went near the hotel, and clearly explained that it had been an honest mistake. I even offered to accept a partial refund or pay a cancellation fee, but they still refused to help in any way. People can make mistakes. Since I was certain about my trip, I chose the non-refundable option to save around €40. I have traveled around the world with Booking for years, and this is the first time I have encountered such an inflexible hotel. I normally never write reviews like this, but I canceled immediately, admitted my mistake, paid for the room in advance, and I truly believe a little understanding and flexibility could have been shown.
