Regenbogenball Vienna
About This Event
The Wiener Regenbogenball, Vienna's queer ball, has been a staple of the city's ball season since 1998. It's run by HOSI Wien, the LGBTIQ+ association, and nearly every edition has taken place at the Austria Trend Parkhotel Schönbrunn in Hietzing. The proceeds fund HOSI Wien's work, including the Regenbogenparade.
It's a formal affair: a dance committee, led by Bernard Bach since 2017, kicks things off, followed by waltzes, live bands, and DJs in several halls. You can also catch a drag show and a tombola with hundreds of prizes. The dress code is strict - think floor- or knee-length gowns, smart trouser suits, tails, dinner jackets, or dark suits. The ball's rule is simple: what you wear doesn't depend on your gender. Leave the jeans and T-shirts at home.
The Austria Trend Parkhotel Schönbrunn is a short walk from U4 Hietzing.
The 28th ball, held on 24 January 2026, drew around 1,500 guests.
The 29th edition is set for Saturday, 23 January 2027. Ticket sales open on 1 November 2026 at noon on regenbogenball.at - don't wait, as earlier editions have sold out.
