About This Event
The Antwerp Queer Arts Festival (AQAF) isn't your average Pride event - it's an arts festival that's been running in Antwerp since the mid-2010s, covering queer music, performance, film, literature, and exhibitions. Volunteers are at the helm, and they're transparent about where the money goes: ticket sales and donations directly support the performers.
AQAF's programme unfolds over several weeks, with events scattered across various venues like Kunsthal Extra City, M HKA, Morpho, De Nor, and Het Bos. The 2026 edition, which ran from 19 June to 16 August, was anchored by the 'Biophony – Beats of love' exhibition at Kunsthal Extra City. You could also catch a kiss-in at Zuidpark.
In 2025, the festival took over the MAS museum during Museumnacht, kicking off its 11th edition, which ran from 2 to 30 August. Tickets are sold on an event-by-event basis through the festival's online calendar, so you can pick and choose the nights that appeal to you. AQAF runs alongside Antwerp's summer Pride season, offering an alternative to the usual Pride parties.
