Very mediocre stay. Dilapidated exterior, junk inside, dirty, not tidied up. I could go on and on. The owner was still walking around the house himself. Please do not book this. It is a disgrace that they dare to offer this.

So we stayed here for 3 nights with a big group (family). We were all kind of shocked about the condition of it. Yes we get its a very old house, but come on. It could use some serious cleaning and maintenance! I did not book this trip, and I would have never. It was so old and dirty that it almost became funny. The first day we were attacked by the goose. We laughed about it but a warning would’ve been nice. Something fell behind the cupboard and I had to move it, I don’t know if I was supposed to be shocked or surprised. Ugh, so dirty! We weren’t able to lock the front door, so basically everyone could walk in. Also something worth mentioning, there was a private room that had a dog in it. It was barking a lot and we all felt really bad about it, we did not see anyone taking the dog out for a walk. Also the room he was in was absolutely disgusting! A lot of us were thinking this is animal abuse! Also never experienced a toilet and a shower right in the room, only curtains separating the area. So if someone takes a dump, you can smell it. Who comes up with something like this!? It’s most definitely overpriced. I’m waiting for the reply of the owner, because apparently he can’t take any criticism or feedback. What do you expect? You can’t avoid negative reviews if your Airbnb is poorly maintained. I am shocked about the positive reviews, I think he pays people to leave them.

This is on Booking is a mystery. Potential, but very far from it.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, which immersed us in Philippe's life and his unique journey, his generosity in sharing. Lots of laughter, delicious homemade meals, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere that those who love life will appreciate as a charming interlude.
