Casa Rosa

Casa Rosa, the Oost-Vlaams Regenbooghuis (East Flanders Rainbow House), is the beating heart of Ghent's LGBTQ+ community. Opened in 2000 on Kammerstraat, it is an umbrella and expertise centre that houses cavaria Oost-Vlaanderen and provides a home base and meeting rooms for around twenty regional queer and trans associations. As a low-threshold contact point it offers information, support and referrals, hosts talks, apéros and performances, and runs its ground-floor bar A-Pluss. During the Gentse Feesten in July it programmes a lively Rainbow Market and street events on Kammerstraat. For any LGBTQ+ visitor to Ghent, Casa Rosa is the single most useful address - both a community anchor and the reason Kammerstraat, not any tourist square, is the true centre of the city's gay scene.
